QED AutoPump Test Stand
SAFETY
- Secure frame to the ground by using the holes on strut channel oor mounts.
- Wear proper Personal Protection Equipment.
PREPARATION
- Pump must be cleaned before is placed in the test stand.
- Genuine QED parts and subassemblies are used when reassembling the pump.
- The ball in the discharge check valve is 7/8” diameter.
- Add water to tank while the refill valve is half opened, when the clear tube well is filled half way stop the water.
- The bottom inlet screen is removed.
- The isolation valve filter/regulator is closed before is connected to an air supply line.
CAUTION:
TESTING: It is recommended the following procedures are tested at both 40
psi and 80 psi. The test stand has a
clear tube well, so check for air leaks while running the following
procedures.
SLOW DISCHARGE
- Throttle the back pressure valve assembly so that it takes about 10 seconds for the pump to discharge
on each cycle.
SLOW FILL
- Throttle the refill rate valve assembly so it takes about to fill and discharge.
WATER LEAK TEST
- While cycling the pump, close the backpressure valve assembly when the pump begin discharging.
- Lift the pump out of the tube and check for significant water leaks on the bottom of the casing, a few drops are acceptable.
- After ensuring that there are no significant water leaks, open the backpressure valve assembly so the pump can discharge in the tank.
PUMP REMOVAL
- After the pump has completely discharge, close the isolation valve on the filter/regulator until the gauge reads “0”.
- Disconnect the air and exhaust hoses.
- Disconnect the water hose and place it back in the tube.
CLEANING THE TEST STAND
- The test stand has cam type fitting on the sections to allow the draining of water.
