INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Gel Pack – Cold Application

For use as a cold pack, place the reusable gel pack in a freezer for a minimum of 4 hours to achieve optimal temperature and performance. The gel pack will remain flexible even when frozen. To use, remove from the freezer and insert in the pocket at the back of the back belt.

Gel Pack – Hot Application
For use as a heat pack, the reusable gel pack is heated by placing it in a container of hot water.
The water may be heated in a kettle, on a stovetop or in a microwave oven.

Kettle or Stovetop
  1. In the case of a kettle, pour enough heated water into a suitable container to easily cover the gel pack. For stovetop heating, pour an appropriate amount of water into a large pan. Bring water to a boil and then remove from heat.
  2. Place the gel pack in hot water for 1 minute. Do not boil the gel pack directly.
  3. Remove the gel pack using tongs. Use caution as the pack will be very hot.
  4. Test the temperature of the gel pack by placing it briefly on the underside of your wrist. If the pack is too hot, allow it to cool before using. If it is not hot enough, continue heating in 1 minute intervals until the desired temperature is reached.
  5. Place the gel pack in the pocket at the back of the wrist wrap.

Microwave
(Caution: Do not heat the gel insert directly in a microwave oven!)

  1. Heat water in microwaveable container on high setting for 3 minutes. This is based on a 1000 watt microwave. Use a minimum of 2 cups or 0.5 litres of water. Heating times may vary.
Follow all precautions and recommendations found in your microwave oven instruction manual with respect to the heating of water. Do not insert the gel pack directly into microwave as this may cause damage to the seal. After heating, let water stand in microwave for thirty seconds before moving it or inserting the gel pack.
