INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing a STRONG SRT ANT200 DVB-T/T2 antenna. This antenna is specially designed to receive digital terrestrial signals. It can be connected to any digital terrestrial receiver (DVB-T/T2), and is specially designed for outdoor use. The antenna cassette is weatherproof and sealed. With the included multi-functional mounting system, you can install the antenna on any pole outside the house. This DVB-T/T2 antenna is an “active” antenna, it has a built-in amplifier that amplifies it received signal for better performance. The antenna, therefore, needs a 5 V power supply from your terrestrial receiver, or by an AC / DC adapter (supplied with the antenna). We recommend that you carefully read this user manual before installing the antenna. This will help you get the best performance from your antenna.

NOTICES OF INVALIDITY

Be careful when working outside near overhanging high voltage wires to avoid electric shock.

  1. Use only original supplied accessories.
  2. Before making any connections: Disconnect your equipment from the 230 V socket to avoid electrical shock during installation.
  3. A short circuit on a coaxial cable can damage your digital receiver.
  4. Never use AC adapters with incorrect specifications. This may damage your antenna or digital receiver. Always check the voltages and polarity of the adapter before connecting it.

CONNECTING THE ANTENNA

The preparations:

  1. Check whether the signal in your country is horizontally or vertically polarized.
  2. Attach the antenna to the pole as shown in picture 2
  3. Depending on how the signals are sent (horizontal or vertical), you will need to mount your antenna in a horizontal or vertical position for best performance.
  4. Your antenna needs 5V power to work properly. Check in the menu or user manual of your terrestrial receiver to see if it supports the required 5 V supply.

To get power for the antenna via Digital Terrestrial Recipient

  1. Switch on the TV and switch on your Digital Terrestrial Receiver.
  2. Press the “” button on the remote control of your digital terrestrial Receiver. Check in Set-Up or installation menu on your receiver to see if the antenna is set to “ON”. (Normally this is specified in the menu as ANT current, Ext Antenna supply or Active antenna supply.) There refer to the user guide for your Digital Terrestrial Receiver.
  3. When you are sure that your receiver supports 5 V antenna power, turn off your receiver and disconnect the one from the 230 V current.
  4. Take the supplied “long” coaxial cable and connect the end with the “F-connector” (screw type connector) to the antenna. Carefully press the inner wire of the cable into the Female-F connector on the back of the antenna. Turn the nut clockwise with your hands until it is secured.
  5. Connect the IEC Male plug end to your receiver. Normally the input jack on your receiver is marked as “ANT” (in) or as “RF” (in). Refer to the user manual for your digital terrestrial Recipient.
  6. Connect your receiver to the 230 V power supply and switch on your receiver and your TV.
  7. Proceed to point 5.0 “Antenna installation”

  • 3. Plug: IEC
  • 4. Set-top box with 5V output

If your receiver does not support 5 V antenna power, then follow the next steps:

To power the antenna via an external power supply

  1. Switch off your receiver and disconnect it from the 230 V mains.
  2. Take the short coaxial (IEC male to IEC female) cable. Connect the IEC Male plug end to your receiver. Normally, the input jack on your receiver is marked as “ANT” (in) or as “RF” (in). Reference is made to the user guide for your digital terrestrial Receiver.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the connector on the Power Injector marked “Receiver”
  4. Take the supplied “long” coaxial cable and connect the end with the “F-connector” (screw type connector) to the antenna. Carefully press the inner wire of the cable into the Female-F connector on the back of the antenna. Turn the nut clockwise with your hands until it is secured.
  5. Connect the other end of the cable to the connector on the Power Injector, the one marked “Antenna”.
  6. Connect the adapter to the 230 V current and connect the plug to the Power Injector – it is marked as “5 V”.
  7. Proceed to point 5 “Installing the antenna”.

INSTALLATION OF ANTENNA

  1. Switch on your TV and switch on your Digital Terrestrial Receiver.
  2. Press the “MENU” button on the remote control of your digital terrestrial Receiver. Select the menu on your receiver that shows the signal level indicators. (Usually you can find it on the signal meter in Channel scanning on the menu.) Refer to the user guide for your Digital Terrestrial receiver Recipient.
  3. One optimizes the signal strength by finding the best position for the antenna. Hold the antenna in hand, try to find the highest or best possible position. Slowly move the antenna to different positions around the house, while monitoring the signal columns in the menu when the signal shows the maximum signal, mount the antenna in that position.

NOTE:
It is not recommended to place the antenna close to:

  • Devices that emit strong radiation or disturbances, such as DECT and GSM phones, transmitters, microwave ovens, Wi-Fi, etc.
  • Devices with high power consumption such as electric heaters, air conditioners, hair dryers etc.

Once the best position for the antenna has been found, it can be mounted and fixed at this location. You can fix the antenna on the wall, on the balcony or on a metal pole.
