Kilsen PG700N Device Programmer Unit
Description
- The PG700N Device Programmer Unit has the following capabilities:
- To assign or modify the address for the KL700A series addressable detectors
- To calibrate the replacement optical chamber for the KL731A Addressable Optical Smoke Detectors
- To calibrate the KL731 and KL731B conventional optical detectors
The range of addresses is from 1 through 125. Models are shown in Table 1 below.
Table 1: Compatible devices
Model | Description |
---|---|
KL731A | Addressable Optical Smoke Detector |
KL731AB | Addressable Optical Smoke Detector (Black) |
KL735A | Addressable Dual (Optical/Heat) Detector |
KL731 | Conventional Optical Detector |
KL731B | Conventional Optical Detector (Black) |
Operation
Button functionality of the device is described in Table 2.
Table 2: Button functionality
There are six program mode options from P1 to P6, including a setup option, descibed in Table 3.
Table 3: Program modes
Program | Function |
---|---|
P1 | Auto address and calibrate. Automatically assigns the allocated address to |
the mounted detector (refer to the screen text for P1 in Table 4). When a
detector is removed, the unit automatically changes to the next address. This
program also calibrates.
P2| Assign a new address and calibrate. Enter the new address and calibrate
the detector.
To operate the unit:
- Press the power on button for three seconds.
- Attach the detector to the unit head and turn it clockwise until the detector clicks into place.
- Select the required function from the program mode options shown in Table 3.
The unit displays the detector address, calibration, or diagnostic state in the screen text, as described in Table 4.
The device descriptions are:
- OD Optical Detector
- HD Heat Detector
- ID Ionisation Detector
- OH Optical Heat (Multi-Sensor) Detector

Calibration error codes, meanings, and possible solutions are shown in Table 5.
Table 5: Calibration error codes
Code | Cause and solution |
---|---|
ERROR-1 | The optical chamber could not be calibrated. If the error persists, |
replace the chamber. If the detector still does not calibrate, replace the detector.
Batteries
The PG700N uses two 9 V PP3 batteries. To check the battery voltage select the Setup program mode (the battery voltage indicator option). Batteries must be replaced when their voltage level drops below 12V. The screen displays [Low Battery] when the batteries need to be replaced.
