Introduction
PowerPanel for Linux utilizes a USB or serial cable to connect the UPS and the system, which also primarily helps users to monitor their UPS. This software consists of two parts, prostate and per stat. The former, prostate is a daemon process that runs immediately when the system starts up and communicates with the UPS. It communicates with the UPS and gracefully shuts down the system when a power event occurs. The latter, per stat, is an interface in PowerPanel for Linux which allows users to receive UPS status and configure the UPS and the daemon, prostate.
