Safety instructions
NOTICE! Risk of overheating and risk of fire when operated with closed barn doors! If the spotlight is operated with the barn doors closed, there is a risk of overheating and fire. In addition, even short-term opera- tion with the barn doors closed can reduce the service life of the LEDs. Operate the device only with open barn doors. NOTICE! Damage to the device due to high voltages! The device can be damaged if it is operated with the incorrect voltage or if high voltage peaks occur. In the worst case, excess voltages can also cause a risk of injury and fires. Make sure that the voltage specification on the device matches the local power grid before plugging in the device. Only operate the device from professionally installed mains sockets that are protected by a residual current circuit breaker (FI). Ensure that the power cord plug is easily accessible at all times if it is the only device to safely disconnect the device from the mains supply. As a precaution, disconnect the device from the power grid when storms are approaching or it the device will not be used for a longer period. NOTICE! Risk of fire by exceeding the maximum current! The device can supply power to other devices of identical design and connected in series. If too many devices are connected, the maximum permitted power consumption can be exceeded, which can cause the device to overheat and burst into flames. Only connect devices of identical design to the device. When deciding how many devices you can connect in series, make sure that the maximum output current specified on the device and in the “Technical specifications” chapter of the user manual is not exceeded. Only use power cords with a cable cross-section designed for the required current intensity when connecting the devices in series. NOTICE! Possible staining due to plasticiser in rubber feet! The plasticiser contained in the rubber feet of this product may react with the coating of the floor and cause permanent dark stains after some time. Features

3 Features
Information about protection class IP65

Special features of the device:
n 18 × RGBW LEDs (15 W each) n Three separately controllable LED rows n Operation in stand-alone and DMX mode (7 different modes) n Simple operation via display and buttons on the device n Pre-programmed automatic shows n Automatic colour gradients n Selectable dimmer curves n Selectable repetition frequency up to 25 kHz n Master/slave mode n Robust aluminium housing n Due to International Protection Rating IP65, temporary outdoor operation is also
possible n W-DMX module for wireless DMX control n Barn doors, diffusion filter and one omega bracket included
For technological reasons, the light output of LEDs decreases over their lifetime. This effect increases with higher operating temperature. You can extend the service life of the illuminants by providing adequate ventilation and operating the LEDs with the lowest possible brightness.
Equipment with protection class IP65 are dust-tight and completely protected against contact (first code number). They are also protected against splash water from any angle (second code digit). That is why this equipment can also be used out- doors. Event technology equipment is generally only designed for temporary use however (event lighting) and not for permanent use outdoors.
The specified protection class does not make a statement about the weather resist- ance of the equipment (resistance to changing ambient conditions as well as against the effects of sunlight and UV rays).
The seals and screw connections of the equipment must be checked regularly to ensure a fault-free operation. In cases of doubt, consult a specialist workshop in due time.

To fully protect the product against vibration, dust and moisture during transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable for transport or storage, respectively.
WARNING! Risk of injury from falling spotlights and barn doors that were inad- equately secured! If spotlights and barn doors are not properly secured when mounted, they can cause severe injury and considerable damage by falling. When installing and operating, make sure to follow the standards and regulations that apply in your country. Always secure spotlights with a secondary safety attachment, such as a safety cable or a safety chain. Always secure the barn door with a safety cable on the spotlight. The safety cable must run outside the barn door to not interfere with the light emission.
NOTICE! Data transfer errors due to improper wiring! If the DMX connections are wired incorrectly, this can cause errors during the data transfer. Do not connect the DMX input and output to audio devices, e.g. mixers or amplifiers. Use special DMX cables for the wiring instead of normal microphone cables.
NOTICE! Risk of overheating and fire due to inadequate distance and bad ventilation! If the distance between the light source and the illuminated surface is too short or the device is badly ventilated, the device can overheat and cause fires. Make sure that illuminated surfaces are more than 2 m away. Do not operate the device in ambient temperatures above 40 °C. Always ensure sufficient ventilation at the operating location.
NOTICE! Risk of overheating and risk of fire when operated with closed barn doors! If the spotlight is operated with the barn doors closed, there is a risk of overheating and fire. Connections in DMX mode

Starting up
Create all connections while the device is off. Use the shortest possible high-quality cables for all connections. Take care when running the cables to prevent tripping hazards.
Connect the DMX input of the device to the DMX output of a DMX controller or another DMX device. Connect the output of the first DMX device to the input of the second one, and so on to form a daisy chain. Always ensure that the output of the last DMX device in the daisy chain is terminated with a resistor (110 , ¼ W).

Connections in Master / Slave mode

When you configure a group of devices in `Master / Slave’ mode, the first unit will control the others. This feature is especially useful to start a show without much pro- gramming. Connect the DMX output of the master unit to the DMX input of the first slave unit. Then connect the DMX output of the first slave unit to the DMX input of the second slave unit and so on.

Plug and connection assignments

9 Plug and connection assignments

Introduction

This chapter will help you select the right cables and plugs to connect your valuable equipment so that a perfect light experience is guaranteed.
Please take our tips, because especially in Sound & Light’ caution is indicated: Even if a plug fits into a socket, the result of an incorrect connection may be a destroyed DMX controller, a short circuit orjust’ a not working light show!

DMX connections

The unit offers a 3-pin XLR socket for DMX output and a 3-pin XLR plug for DMX input. Please refer to the drawing and table below for the pin assignment of a suit- able XLR plug.

Troubleshooting

10 Troubleshooting

In the following we list a few common problems that may occur during operation. We give you some suggestions for easy troubleshooting:

Symptom The device is not working, no light One colour does not work or the colours differ when using multiple lamps.
No response to the DMX controller
The devices do not connect to the W-DMX transmitter or do not respond to the W-DMX signal. The device responds slowly or not at all to the W-DMX signal. Unintended light effects

Remedy
Check the mains connection and main fuse.
Check the settings in the White Balance’ menu. If the function is missing, values may be set to000′ .
If the colour rendering is different, set all values for the colours in the White Balance’ menu to255′ . You can then fine-tune the colour rendering.
1. Check the DMX connectors and cables for proper connection.
2. Check the address settings and the DMX polarity.
3. Try using another DMX controller.
4. Check whether the DMX cables run near or parallel to high-voltage cables that may cause damage or interference to a DMX interface circuit.
5. Press Mode until the display shows ADDRESS XXX’ . 6\. Check whetherDMX’ (with wired connection) is selected in the DMX Signal Select’ menu. Check whetherWireless DMX’ is selected in the DMX Signal Select’ menu. Reset the connection by performing a reset in theReset Wireless DMX Memory’ menu. The devices must then be reassigned to the transmitter by pressing the [Link] button on the transmitter.
Check the transmission mode of the W-DMX transmitter. Test the connection with the G5, G4S or G3 mode (if possible). Please note that the W-DMX must be reset on all devices after the transmitter has been changed.
Make sure that the DMX channel assignments of the devices do not overlap, and that the DMX start address of devices with independent control is always higher by the number of channels that have been set for the DMX mode on another device.

If the procedures recommended above do not succeed, please contact our Service Center. You can find the contact information at www.thomann.de.

Cleaning
11 Cleaning
Optical lenses

Clean the optical lenses, that are accessible from the outside, regularly in order to optimize the light output. The frequency of cleaning depends on the operating envi- ronment: wet, smoky or particularly dirty surroundings can cause more accumulation of dirt on the optics of the device.
n Clean with a soft cloth using our lamp and lens cleaner (item no. 280122). n Always dry the parts carefully.
