Safety instructions
Intended use
This device is designed to make device connections inside a rack more accessible from the outside. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damage resulting from improper use. This device may be used only by persons with sufficient physical, sensory, and intellectual abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.
Risk of injury and choking hazard for children!
Children can suffocate on packaging material and small parts. Children can injure themselves when handling the device. Never allow children to play with the packaging material and the device. Always store packaging material out of the reach of babies and small children. Always dispose of packaging material properly when it is not in use. Never allow children to use the device without supervision. Keep small parts away from children and make sure that the device does not shed any small parts (such as knobs) that children could play with.
Incorrect handling of lithium batteries can result in injury!
In the event of a short circuit, overheating or mechanical damage, lithium
batteries can cause severe injuries. Handle lithium batteries in a correct and
professional manner. Store lithium batteries in a cool and dry place in their
original packaging. Keep lithium batteries away from sources of heat.
Never open lithium batteries. Only charge rechargeable lithium batteries with
a suitable charger. Remove the lithium batteries before disposing of the
device. Cover the poles of used lithium batteries with adhesive tape to
prevent short circuits. Electrolyte can escape from damaged lithium batteries.
Put the damaged lithium battery in air-tight packaging. Collect the
electrolyte with absorbent paper. Wear rubber gloves while doing so.
Electric shock caused by short circuit
Always use a properly insulated, tripe-core mains cable. Do not modify the mains cable. Failure to comply may result in electric shock and risk of fire and loss of life. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician.
Possible damage due to leaking batteries!
Batteries can leak and cause permanent damage to the device. Take the batteries out of the device if it is not going to be used for an extended period of time.
Operating location Do not ever use this product:
- in conditions of extreme temperature or humidity
- in extremely dusty or dirty places
- in places where the product can get wet
General handling
To prevent damage, do not exert force when handling the product. Do not immerse the product in water. Wipe only with a clean and dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners such as benzene, thinners or flammable cleaning agents

Updating the firmware
Automatically updating the Ignition Software Updater
- Download the firmware from www.thomann.de.
- Save the firmware on an SD card with the name “upgrader.yfu”.
- Insert the SD card.
- Switch on the device to start the firmware update.
Manually updating the Ignition Software Updater
- Save the firmware on an SD card in a “Firmware” folder.
- Insert the SD card in the device while it is off.
- Switch on the device and select the relevant file from the “Firmware Upgrade” menu item.
- Use ENTER to start the upgrade process. The upgrade process is complete when as the display shows “100%”
Using the product
Connect the device to the Updater via the 3-pin or 5-pin output for the following procedures. The new software version of the connected device must be stored on the SD card.
**Testing DMX
**
- In the main menu, select the “DMX Test” menu item.
- Select a channel between 001-512.
**DMX View
**
- In the main menu, select the “DMX View” menu item.
- The display shows the current mode. Press ENTER to display the value of the DMX channel.
Normal upgrade
- Switch on the device and select the “Firmware Upgrade” menu item in the main menu. The device automatically searches for the software on the SD card.
- Use UP and DOWN to adjust the upgrade speed and confirm with ENTER. The upgrade process is complete when as the display shows “100%”.

Environmentally friendly materials have been chosen for the packaging. These materials can be sent for normal recycling. Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of in the proper manner. Do not just dispose of these materials with your normal household waste, but make sure that they are collected for recycling. Please follow the instructions and markings on the packaging.
Batteries must not be thrown away or burnt, but must instead be disposed of in line with the local regulations on the disposal of hazardous waste. They should be returned to the manufacturer for disposal or recycled elsewhere in accordance with your local regulations.
Only dispose of lithium batteries when they are empty. Remove replaceable lithium batteries from the device before disposal. Protect used lithium batteries against short circuit, for example by taping the poles. Dispose of solid state lithium batteries together with the device. Please check for an appropriate reception facility
This product is subject to the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) as amended. Do not dispose of your old device with your normal household waste. Dispose of the product through an approved waste disposal firm or through your local waste management facility. When disposing of the device, comply with the rules and regulations that apply in your country. If in doubt, consult your local waste management facility.
