AGPTEK A52X MP3 Player with Bluetooth
Important Notice
Thank you for purchasing the AGPTEK Music Player. For the best user experience, please read this user manual carefully before use and keep it for further reference.
Charge the Player
- Charge by computer USB port.
- Use 5V/500mA or 5V/1A charger (Charger not included).
Connect to the PC & Download Audio Files
- Open the Windows Explorer or [This PC].
- Using the USB cable, connect the player to a USB port on your PC.
- Open the new [AGP-A52] folder under [This PC].
- Copy files to the [AGP-A52] in which you want them to play.
- In the left sidebar, right-click the [AGP-A52] folder and select [Eject] from the menu.
- Wait until the computer confirms a safe ejection before you unplug the USB cable.
Note:
Please do not disconnect the USB plug during file transfer. It may cause
malfunction of the player and the files.

Getting Started
- Power On/Off: Long press the Power button to turn on/off your MP3 player
- Screen Lock: Hold down the button to lock/unlock the screen. All buttons will be unavailable if the device is locked.
- Screen Display: Press the Power button to activate the screen.
- Browse Items: On the home menu or list menus, press the / / / button to browse items. Press the button to enter.
- Return: In any interface, press the button to go back, and hold down it to go back directly to home menu.
- One-Key Music Playback: On any interface, hold down the button and it will go to the Music Playback interface directly.
- Wallpaper Switch: A) For a quick wallpaper change, press the button while on the main menu screen. B) Alternatively, enter [Tools]> [Wallpaper] to set it.
Main Functions
Home Menu
The home menu is the starting point of each application. There are 8 functions
on the home menu: Music, FM Radio, Recorder, Bluetooth, Videos, Tools ,
Folders and Settings.
Music
Find [Music] on the home menu and press the button to access. A related
list will show:
- All songs.
- Resume/Now Playing.
- Artists/Albums/Genres.
- Playlists. There are 3 default playlists on the player: Playlist [1]/[2]/[3].
- Update Playlist. Update music files.
- Local Folder/Card Folder. View music files stored locally or on the TF card. (Note: These functions are only available when a TF card is inserted.)
Play Music
- On the music playing screen. hold down the button to fast forward, and press it to skip to the next track. Hold down the button to fast rewind, and press it to play the previous track. Press the button to play/pause.
- On the music playing screen, press the button to access to the submenu:
- Playback Mode
- Sound Settings
* **Playback Speed:** Options include 0.5x/1.0x/1.5x/2.0x.
* **Volume Limit:** To prevent hearing damage. adjust the maximum volume to a safe level based on your comfort.
* **Equalizer:** Select from Off, Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Classical, and Techno, or customize your own.
3. Bookmarks. Choose to add a bookmark for the song that is playing, or go to/delete the bookmark you added.
4. Add to Playlist/Remove from Playlist. Choose to add to or remove from the 3 existing playlists.
5. Delete. Choose to delete the song that is playing.
FM Radio
Note:
Please first plug in the wired headphone as an antenna before you start the FM
Radio.
- Find [Radio] on the home menu and press the button to access it. A related list will show:
- Preset Stations. All the saved stations will be listed here.
- Manual Tune/Auto-Tune. When choosing [Auto-Tune], the searched stations will be saved in [Preset Station] automatically.
- FM Recording. View the radio recording files. You will need to choose from the local folder or card folder if a TF card is inserted. The radio recordings will also be saved in the Recordings library.
- On the radio playing screen, press the button to switch among preset stations. Press the / button to move to the previous/next frequency (-/+100KHz). Press and hold the / button to auto-search the previous/next receivable station. Press the button to access its submenu which includes:
- Start FM Recording. Press the button to pause/continue, press the button, and select LYes] to save the recording file.
- Open Speaker for Radio. Turn it on to use the device’s speaker for radio playback.
- Save to Preset/Delete from Preset/Auto-Tune.
- Tuner Region. Choose from the Common/European/Japanese Band as needed.
- FM Recordings. View your recorded FM audio files.
Recorder
Find [Record] on the home menu and press the button to enter. A related
list will show:
- Start Recording. Press the button to start/pause voice recording. To save, press the button, then select [Yes].
- Recording Library. Access your saved recordings. If a TF card is inserted, choose between the local folder or card folder. To delete a recording during playback, press the Submenu button and select [Delete].
- Storage. Choose to store your recordings in internal or external memory. Confirm your selection with the button (option only available with TF card).
- Record Format. Choose the record format between MP3 and WAV.
- Recording Bitrate. Select quality options from 32/64/128/192/512/768 /1024/1536/3072kbps.
- Recording Source. Select Microphone or Line-In. Note on Line-In: It offers two features.
- Recording: With a line-in cable, you can record from two MP3 sources or other devices like mobile phones.
- Playback: Connect a line-in cable to a device like a CD player or speaker to play music stored on the MP3.
Bluetooth
Find [Bluetooth] on the home menu and press the button to access it. A related
list will show, including Bluetooth On/Off, Search for Devices, Devices List,
and BT Upgrade.
After you turn on Bluetooth, select [Search Devices], and the player will automatically search for connectable Bluetooth devices. Only supports Bluetooth speakers and Bluetooth headphones.
Bluetooth Auto-Reconnect:
On the restart, the player tries to reconnect with previously paired devices
for 15 seconds. If unsuccessful after 5 minutes, Bluetooth will turn off,
requiring manual reconnection. (*Ensure your Bluetooth device is in pairing
mode.)
Note:
- When listening to the radio by Bluetooth, wired headphones are needed as the radio antenna.
- BT Upgrade function is only available for the manufacturer, not for users.
Videos
- Press the button to access. Select either the local folder or card folder if a memory card is inserted.
- Press the button to watch a video, press the / button to skip to the previous/next video or hold it down to rewind/fast-forward.
- On the video playing screen, press the button to access options like Repeat, Delete Video, and Update Playlist.
Folders
- Find [Folders] on the home menu and press the button to access it. All of the files in the player will be listed.
- If a TF card is inserted, you can choose to go to Local folder or Card folder.
- Repeat Single Folder: Play a song from the folder you want to repeat. On the music playing screen, select LRepeat Single Folder] in the Playback mode. This will continuously repeat all songs within that folder.
- Repeat Multiple Folders: Play a song from any folder. On the music playing screen, select [Repeat Multiple Folders] in the Playback mode. And songs from all folders will loop sequentially from Folder A to Folder B, C, D, etc.
Tools
Find [Tools] on the home menu and press the button to access.
A related list will show:

Photos
- Press the button to access. If a TF card is inserted, select from the local or card folder. Press the button to view pictures, and press the / button to go to previous/next picture.
- In the picture viewing interface, press the Submenu button to access options like Brightness, Backlight Timer, Slideshow Settings, Delete Image, Update Playlist.

E-books

Press the button to enter. If a TF card is inserted, select from the local folder or card folder. On the text viewing screen, press the / button to turn pages, and press the / button to adjust the brightness. Press the button for automatic page-turning, press it again to stop.

While viewing, press the button to enter the submenu and set your preference, including Auto-Play Timer (set auto page turning from 2s to 30s), Font Size, Background, Delete E-book, Select/Delete/Add Bookmark, Select Page, Local Folder and Card Folder (Only available when a TF card is inserted).

Pedometer
Find [Pedometer] under Tools and press the button to access. Options include:- Start
- Press the button to start/pause step counting. To exit, press the button.
- Pause step counting, press the button and select [Yes] to record the steps in [History]. Oldest records will be overwritten if the history is full.
- Personal Info. Set your height, weight, and stride length, and press the button to confirm.
- History. View all your saved step records here (saved up to 7).
- Clear History. Delete selected or all step records.

Stopwatch
Press the button to enter, press again to start or pause the timer. Press the / button to start a new timer (up to four can be listed). To reset all timers to zero, press the button. -
Alarm
Press the button to enter. Configure settings such as Alarm On/Off, Set Alarm Time, Alarm Repeat (Once/Daily/Weekdays), Alarm Sound, and Alarm Volume. -
Calendar
Press the button to switch among year/month/day, and press the / / / button to select specific year/month/day. -
Wallpaper
Press the button to enter, and select from six built-in wallpapers to customize your background.
Settings
Find [Settings] on the home menu, and press the button to access the following options:
- Language. Choose the interface language.
- Display Settings. Adjust Brightness, Backlight Timer, and Screensaver.
- Button Light. Set the button light to On, Off, or Always On.
- External Sound. Turn On/Off the speaker.
- Shutdown Settings:
1. Power Off. Automatically power off after a set duration (1-99 minutes).
2. Sleep Timer. Automatically shuts down if not in use after 1/3/5/10/ 15120mins.
- Date and Time. For the Date, go to Date Settings> Set Date. Press the / button to switch between hour (HH) and minute (MM). Press the / button to adjust values. For the Time, follow the same procedure in Time Settings> Set Time.
- About Player. View system information and available disk space.
- Format Device/Factory Settings. Format the device or restore to factory default settings. Note: Back up your files before formatting to avoid data loss.
Help and Troubleshooting

How to reset the language?
There are two ways to reset the language as shown below.- Method 1: Browse the main menu and locate [Settings]. Enter the language list from the Settings menu and select the desired language.
- Method 2: Browse the main menu and locate [Settings]. Enter the [Factory settings] option by scrolling down and selecting it. Confirm the selection to restore the device to factory settings. The player will automatically power on, and you can then select the desired language again.

Can’t turn on the player; the screen of the player goes blank/black; the player is crashed or has a firmware bug.
1. Power off the player and try turning it on again.
2. Update the firmware. Please contact our customer service or visit our website at <https://www.agptek.com/blog> to download the firmware.
- Can’t download files from the computer.
1. Confirm if the player is connected properly.
2. Check if the internal memory’s storage space is full.
3. Verify if the USB cable is damaged.
- Can’t recognize the player when connected to the computer via USB cable.
1. Reconnect the player.
2. Restart the computer and reconnect the player.
3. Try connecting the player to another USB port
4. Charge the player for about 10 minutes before attempting the connection.
- How to play music from the player on a car stereo?
1. Connect the player to the car stereo’s USB port using the provided USB-C to USB-A cable.
2. For MP3 songs, use a 3.5mm audio cable for audio transmission. Purchase a 3.5mm audio cable separately.
3. Avoid using Bluetooth with the car stereo to prevent compatibility issues.

Disorderly sorting of music files and audiobooks:
Consider renaming songs in numeric or alphabetical order for better organization. For instance, if you have 1000 songs, you can name them starting with “0001” followed by the song title, up to “4000” + song title.
Example:- Song 1: 0001 My Favorite Song
- Song 2: 0002 Summer Vibes
- Song 4000: 4000 Dancing in the Rain

MP3 unable to find or connect to Bluetooth devices:
1. Ensure both the MP3 player’s Bluetooth and the device are turned on. Then perform the search and pairing process.
2. Disconnect any previously paired Bluetooth devices before searching and pairing again.
3. Delete all Bluetooth devices from the MP3 player’s pairing list if connected to multiple devices. Reconnect them if needed.
4. Check if the Bluetooth headphones or speakers have a version of 2.1 or above. Incompatibility may cause failure in device discovery.
- Bluetooth connection frequently disconnects
1. Check the usage environment for potential interference from nearby 2.4GHz sources or obstacles (such as indoor walls, base stations, routers, high-speed trains, subways, etc.). Try using Bluetooth in an open area.
2. Maintain a distance of 8-10 meters for an uninterrupted Bluetooth connection. Ensure a maximum of 4-5 meters with obstacles. Keep the Bluetooth function within the specified range of the product.

Notes On Battery Charging

Please use the PC USB port or a 5V/1A power adapter to charge the device.
Note:- When using the PC USB port to charge, the current output capability of the USB port of different PCs is different and the charging time will be slightly different. It is recommended that when using the PC USB port to charge, try to power off the device to speed up the charging.
- The charger and the MP3 player will heat up to a certain extent during charging, which is a normal phenomenon.

A new battery needs to go through several charging and discharging processes to achieve the best performance.

Under normal circumstances, the player can be fully charged in about 3h. It is recommended to pull out from the USB port after charging, and not connect to the power supply for a long time.

The battery of this device is a polymer lithium battery, which can be recharged and used.

The polymer lithium battery must be replaced by a professional, and the user must not replace it by himself (Note: If the battery is replaced improperly, there will be a danger of explosion, and it can only be replaced with the same type or equivalent type of battery); to protect the environment, please hand over the waste batteries to a professional organization for recycling.

The lifespan of the battery may vary with the conditions of use and production time.

The battery should not be exposed to sunlight, fire, or a similar overheating environment.
Tips for Hearing Conservation
- It is recommended to turn down the volume of the device before using the earphones, and gradually increase until it is suitable when you start to listen.
- To protect hearing, please do not turn up the volume too high (doctors pointed out that listening at high volume for a long time will damage the listener’s hearing).
- When tinnitus occurs, please lower the volume or stop using it.
Important Safety Information
- Before formatting the device, it is recommended to back up the personal data stored in it in time.
- Ensure that the product is placed safely to avoid accidents and drops caused by children touching it.
- Do not overvoltage, strain the power cord, bend it, or be squeezed by heavy objects, so as not to cause overheating or fire.
- Please keep the product away from the electromagnetic environment; keep away from excessive humidity, smoke dust, and other harsh environments.
- Do not immerse the device in water; do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaners to clean it
- Do not expose the product to moisture or rain, it may cause the device to malfunction or even be difficult to repair due to the penetration of water and moisture.
