GETTING STARTED GUIDE
BLUES BOOST
Blues breaker® tone with extra responsiveness. This low-gain drive tone gives a touch of grit and a lift in the mid range. ADAPT setting II lets you clean up to a full, bright clean tone from your guitar volume or playing dynamics.
MODDED LEAD
Our take on the modded Blues breaker® sound. This rich-yet cutting lead tone works great with humblers into clean amps. ADAPT setting I responds to dynamic playing but retains a little high-end roll-off and tightness in the lows.

The Halcyon Blue Overdrive is an Adaptive Overdrive pedal inspired by the Marshall® Blues breaker®.
GET CONNECTED
INSTR – Plug in your guitar or other instrument.
AMP – Connect to your amp or modeller.
9VDC – Insert 9VDC 2.1mm centre-negative power supply (minimum 200mA).
MATCH THE CONTROLS
Match the pedal’s controls to the image shown.
SET THE ADAPT SWITCH
The ADAPT switch reduces the mid emphasis and restores bass and treble frequencies as the pedal cleans up.
Position O has no adaptive behaviour, just like the original Blues breaker®.
Position II gives you full adaptive behaviour. Turning down your guitar volume or playing softly will reduce the mid range emphasis as well as cleaning up your tone.
Position I is less adaptive than position II. The mid emphasis is retained slightly when cleaned up, helping low-end tightness and reducing feedback with high-gain sounds.
The effect of the ADAPT switch will be more noticeable with higher DRIVE settings.
SELECT YOUR VOICE
The BB setting offers the standard voicing of the Marshall® Blues breaker®.
The MOD voicing adds a different diode clipping characteristic, more gain and a warmer frequency response.
TWEAK YOUR SOUND
DRIVE – Turn clockwise to increase the amount of overdrive. With ADAPT settings I and II, high DRIVE settings sound more natural than a typical drive pedal and work well with a clean amp.
LEVEL – Sets the output level from the pedal.
TONE – Turn counterclockwise to roll off more high end. Lower settings will result in a classic warm lead tone while higher settings will give a bright, cutting tone. With ADAPT settings I and II, the effect of the TONE control is reduced as the pedal cleans up, getting you back to a full-range clean tone.
DRY – The Bluesbreaker® is a classic soft clipping overdrive which retains some unaffected dry signal as clipping occurs. The DRY control adjusts the level of dry signal. At 12:00, this is the same as the Blues breaker®. Turn clockwise to increase the ratio of dry signal, maintaining dynamics and clarity. Turn counterclockwise to remove the dry signal for a harder-edged overdrive tone, great with a clean amp! This control will be more noticeable with higher DRIVE settings.
