Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarize yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Intended use
  • This product can be used for preparing slushy drinks, as well as frozen drinks (e.g. margaritas and daiquiris).
  • The product is designed for household use. The product is not suitable for commercial use.
  • The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by improper use.
Scope of delivery

After unpacking the product, make sure that the product is in orderly condition. Remove all packaging materials before use.

In the case of damage resulting from non-compliance with these operating instructions the warranty claim becomes invalid! No liability is accepted for consequential damage! In the case of material damage or personal injury caused by incorrect handling or noncompliance with the safety instructions, no liability is accepted!

WARNING! RISK OF LOSS OF LIFE OR ACCIDENT TO INFANTS AND CHILDREN!

Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material represents a danger of suffocation. Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Always keep children away from the packaging material.

  • This product shall not be used by children. Keep the product and its cord out of reach of children.
  • This product can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the product.

WARNING! Potential injury from misuse.

Use this product solely in accordance with these instructions. Do not attempt to modify the product in any way.

ATTENTION! Damage to property! The product is only used for crushing ice cubes. Never crush frozen food, or ice cubes made from juice and soft drinks. Misuse will irreparably damage the product.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never attempt to repair the product yourself.

In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only

WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never use a damaged product. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket outlet and contact your retailer if it is damaged.

  • Never drop the container and lid. Rough handling can cause irreparable damage to the product.
    The product is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage.

  • Regularly check the mains plug and the mains cord for damages.
    If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • Protect the mains cord against damages. Do not let it hang over sharp edges, do not squeeze or bend it. Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.

WARNING! Risk of injury! Never try to remove the ice cubes from the ice chamber while the ice chamber is still rotating. Wait until the ice chamber stops rotating before removing the lid.

  • Clean the surfaces in contact with foodstuff (see “Cleaning and care”).

  • Always disconnect the product from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

  • Do not use the accessories other than those supplied with the product.

  • Do not use the product if the ice chamber or the protecting cover is damaged or has visible cracks.

  • Be careful when handling the sharp cutting blade.

  • The blade is sharp. Use extreme caution during assembly, while operating, disassembly and cleaning.

  • Do not place the product on hot plates (gas, electric, coal cooking range etc.).
    Operate the product on a level, stable, clean, and dry surface.

  • Never touch the main unit, the mains cord or the mains plug with wet hands.

  • Do not pull the mains plug out of the socket outlet by the mains cord.

  • Protect the product, its mains cord and mains plug against dust, direct sunlight, dripping and splashing water.

  • Protect the product against heat. Do not place the product close to open flames or heat sources such as stoves or heating appliances.

  • Care shall be taken when handling the sharp ice shaving blade, emptying the ice chamber and during cleaning.

  • Switch off the product and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.

Before first use

  1. Remove the packing materials.
  2. Clean the product (see “Cleaning and care”).

Operation

NOTES:

  • The maximum continuous operating time is approx. 5 minutes. Let the product cool for 3 minutes before switching the product on again.
  • Do not use the product without the mixing container [8] inserted
  • Do not overfill the ice chamber [3].
  • The product operates only when the lid [1] is properly closed and locked.
  • The ice chamber [3] holds max. 250 g of ice cubes.
  • Use squared ice cubes with an approximate edge length of 2 cm.
  • Do not exceed the MAX mark on the mixing container [8], for both ice cubes and beverages.
  • Do not fill any liquid into the ice chamber [3].
  • Do not use the product without the ice chamber interlock [2] or without the completely fixed ice chamber interlock.

  • Turn the knob [6] to select the grinding grade of the crushed ice:

NOTE: The marking on the knob [6] has to point at or .

Prepare beverages

WARNING! Risk of electric shock!

Never touch the main unit [5], the mains cord or the mains plug [7] with wet hands.

  1. Place the main unit [5] on a suitable and level surface.
  2. Insert the ice chamber [3] into the main unit [5]. The notches inside the main unit have to fit into the recesses of the ice chamber.
  3. Insert the ice chamber interlock [2] in the middle of the ice chamber [3]. The notches of the ice chamber interlock have to fit into the recesses inside the ice chamber.
  4. Turn the ice chamber interlock [2] clockwise to lock.
  5. Insert the ice cubes into the ice chamber [3].
  6. Insert the stirrer [9] into the mixing container [8]. The bottom hole of the stirrer must be inserted into the post in the middle of the mixing container.
  7. Insert the desired beverage into the mixing container [8].
  8. For small drink size, insert the desired beverage to [10] and the shaving ice to [11] (Fig. B).

For large drink size, insert the desired beverage to [12] and the shaving ice to [13] (Fig. C).

  1. Place the mixing container [8] on the bottom of the main unit [5] and insert the mixing container into the main unit.

  2. To lock, turn the mixing container [8] handle clockwise until the handle reaches the left edge of the main unit [5] (Fig. D).

  3. Connect the mains plug [7] to a socket outlet.

  4. Align on the lid [1] to O on the main unit [5] (Fig. E1).

  5. Switching on the product: Turn the lid [1] counter-clockwise to align on the lid to I on the main unit [5] (Fig. E2). The ice chamber [3] starts rotating. Ice cubes are being shaved. The ice shavings are dropping into the mixing container [8]. The stirrer [9] mixes the beverage with the ice shavings.

  6. Switching off the product : Turn the lid [1] clockwise to align on the lid to O on the main unit [5] (Fig. E1).

  7. Turn the mixing container [8] handle counter-clockwise until the handle reaches the middle to unlock. Remove the mixing container from the main unit [

Recipe suggestions

Ginger slushy

Ingredients (for 1‒2 glasses)

  • 250 ml Ginger beer
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 250 g Ice

Lemon wedges for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Fill the mixing container [8] with ginger beer and lemon juice.
  2. Grind the ice (grinding grade: coarse, see “Select grinding grade”).
  3. Pour the slushy into a drinking glass.
  4. Garnish the drinking glass with a lemon wedge.
Grapefruit slushy

Ingredients (for 1‒2 glasses)

  • 250 ml Sparkling water
  • 10 ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 30 ml Fresh grapefruit juice
  • 360 g Ice
  • 2 Grapefruit wedges for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Fill the mixing container [8] with sparkling water, fresh lemon juice, and fresh grapefruit juice.
  2. Grind the ice (grinding grade: coarse, see “Select grinding grade”).
  3. Pour the slushy into a drinking glass.
  4. Garnish the drinking glass with a grapefruit wedge.
Soft drink slushy

Ingredients (for 1‒2 glasses)

  • 250 ml Soft drink
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • 250 g Ice
  • 2‒3 Lemon slices for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Fill the mixing container [8] with the soft drink and fresh lemon juice.
  2. Grind the ice (grinding grade: coarse, see “Select grinding grade”).
  3. Pour the slushy into a drinking glass.
  4. Garnish the drinking glass with a lemon slice.
Mojito slushy
  • This slushy contains alcohol. It is not suitable for minors and pregnant or lactating women.
  • Do not drink and drive!

Classic margarita

  • This slushy contains alcohol. It is not suitable for minors and pregnant or lactating women.
  • Do not drink and drive!

Ingredients (for 1‒2 glasses)

  • 120 ml Mojito syrup
  • Juice of 2 Limes
  • Zest of ½ Lime
  • 22 ml Light rum
  • 500 g Ice

Fresh mint and lime wedges for garnishing

Ingredients (for 2‒3 glasses)

  • 90 ml Tequila
  • 45 ml Triple sec
  • 330 ml Margarita mix
  • Juice of 2 Lemons
  • 360 g Ice

Salt and lemon wedges for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Fill the mixing container [8] with mojito syrup, fresh lime juice, lime zest, light rum, and mint leaves.
  2. Grind the ice (grinding grade: fine, see “Select grinding grade”).
  3. Pour the slushy into a drinking glass.
  4. Garnish the drinking glass with fresh mint and a lime wedge.

Preparation

  1. Salt rim: Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass. Tip the glass over. Dip the rim into the salt and rotate the glass.
  2. Fill the mixing container [8] with tequila, triple sec, margarita mix, and fresh lemon juice.
  3. Grind the ice (grinding grade: coarse, see “Select grinding grade”).
  4. Pour the margarita into a drinking glass.
  5. Garnish the drinking glass with a lemon wedge.

Troubleshooting

Cleaning and care

WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Before cleaning or maintaining the product: Disconnect the mains plug [7] from the mains outlet.

ATTENTION! Damage to property! Do not use any abrasive, aggressive cleaners or hard brushes to clean the product or its accessories.

  • Lid [1], ice chamber interlock [2], ice chamber [3], mixing container [8], and stirrer [9] are dishwasher-suitable.

  • After cleaning: Dry all parts thoroughly.

Storage

  • Before storage: Clean the product and let the product dry.
  • Store the product in the original packaging when it is not in use.
  • Store the product at a dry location out of the reach of children.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics/20–22: paper and fibre board/80–98: composite materials.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase.

Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product.

Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.

This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.

The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear and tear, thus considered consumables (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, tubes,  cartridges), nor damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches or glass parts.

To ensure quick processing of your claim, observe the following instructions:

Make sure to have the original sales receipt and the item number (IAN 468785_2310) available as proof of purchase.

You can find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the instruction manual (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.

If functional or other defects occur, contact the service department listed below either by telephone or by e-mail.

Once the product has been recorded as defective you can return it free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure to enclose the proof of purchase (sales receipt) and a short, written description outlining the details of the defect and when it occurred.
