  • CAUTION! Shut off the main water supply before assembly (see Fig. A).
  • CAUTION! Do not twist the connecting  hoses 16 and 17 and do not pull them taut.

Note : For assembly you will need a cross-tip screwdriver and an open-end wrench.

Installing the tap

  1. Remove the fastening nut 7 from the tap thread 4 .

  2. Figure B: Screw the short end of the tap thread 4 into the tap body 1 . Screw the two flexible connecting hoses 16 , 17 into the two corresponding hose mounts in the tap body by hand from below. Please note that the connecting hose marked in red must be screwed to the red holder (left) and the connecting hose marked in blue must be screwed into the blue holder. Never use tools to screw the connection hoses 16 , 17 into the tap. Make sure the connection hoses 16 , 17 are straight and are not being crushed.

  3. Figure C: Place the base ring 2 centrally over the mounting hole on the washbasin so that the hole is fully encircled. Ensure beforehand that the base ring seal 3 is positioned correctly in the corresponding groove. Place the tap body 1 complete with mounted flexible connection hoses through the base ring from above and into the mounting hole for the washbasin so that the base ring 2 encircles the mounting hole for the tap.

  4. Figure D: Fix the tap to the washbasin by hand-screwing the fastening nut 7 to the tap thread 4 from below until it stops.

  5. Figure E: Screw the connection hoses 16 , 17 to the angle valves on your wall connection using a screwdriver. Be sure to connect the two connection hoses 16 , 17 to the cold and hot water connections correctly.

Make sure that the connecting hoses 16 , 17 are straight and are not being crushed.
Remove the protective cover 15a and the additional protector 15b from the drain 15c , screw the lock nut 15f and the lower drain seal 15e onto the drain thread. Insert the drain 15c with the upper silicone seal 15d into the drain of the washbasin and screw the lower drain seal 15e as well as the lock nut 15f onto the thread from below. Check that the drain set is working properly.
To stop the water flow, operate the drain set by pressing the stopper 15g . To drain the water, press the stopper 15g again from above.

  6. After successfully installing the product, turn on the hot and cold water supplies.

Use

Prior to first use

  • All connections must be carefully checked for leaks after initial use. The fitting must be flushed before being used for the first time to remove any particles.

To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Unscrew the aerator housing, the aerator and the aerator gasket from the tap body 1 in an anti-clockwise direction.
  • Open the main water supply and allow the water to flow for two minutes to flush out any particles.
  • Then screw the aerator housing, the aerator and the aerator gasket back onto the tap body, turning clockwise.
  • Push up or press down on the tap lever 8 to regulate the water flow.
  • Turn the tap lever in either a clockwise or anticlockwise direction to regulate the water temperature (see Fig. G):
For cold water, turn the tap lever 8 anti-clockwise.For warm water, turn the tap lever 8 clockwise.

Using the Eco function (water saving effect) (see Fig. F)

The cartridge 13 in this tap has an Eco function.

  • When you move the tap lever 8 , you will notice a slight resistance. The Eco function cuts the water flow by around half, enabling you to save up to 50% more water.
  • Tilt the tap lever 8 until you notice a slight resistance.
  • To increase the flow rate, apply slight pressure on the tap lever 8 until you overcome the resistance.

Energy-saving function (see Fig. G)

The cartridge 13 in this tap has an energy-saving function. If the tap lever 8 is in the central position then only cold water comes out, not mixed water.
This prevents unnecessary consumption of warm water and saves valuable energy.

Maintenance and cleaning

  • CAUTION! RISK OF DAMAGE! Observe the following instructions on properly cleaning and maintaining the tap to avoid damage.
  • Never clean with petrol, solvents or abrasive cleaners, or hard bristled brushes, etc. This could damage the tap surface.

Maintaining and cleaning the tap

  • Dry off your taps with a cloth after every use to prevent limescale build-up.
  • Wipe the tap clean with a damp, soft cloth and if necessary, a mild cleaning agent.
  • To clean the aerator, unscrew the aerator housing, turning anti-clockwise, and remove the aerator and aerator gasket.
  • Remove any limescale from the aerator and screw the individual parts back together.

Replacing the cartridge (see Fig. H-L)

Cartridges are wear items that must be replaced regularly depending on the lime content and impurities in the water. The tap lever becoming more difficult to use may be a sign the cartridge needs to be replaced. Replacement cartridges can be obtained directly at the specified service point.

Proceed as follows:

  • Shut off the main water supply (see Fig. A).
  • Carefully remove the plate 9 from the inside of the tap lever 8 with a small flat-blade screwdriver (see Fig. H).
  • Loosen the hexagon socket grub screw 10 a few turns anti-clockwise using the hex key 14 (see Fig. I).
  • Do not unscrew the hex grub screw 10 completely, only loosen it until the tap lever 8 can be easily removed.
  • Remove the tap lever 8 (see Fig. J).
  • Unscrew the cartridge covering ring 11 by hand in an anti-clockwise direction (see Fig. K).
  • Loosen the cartridge retaining ring 12 by turning it anti-clockwise with fitting or siphon pliers and then pull the cartridge 13 out of the tap body 1 (see Fig. L).
  • Insert the new cartridge 13 carefully into the tap body.
  • Ensure the gasket under the cartridge 13 is seated correctly and the leads are in the designated openings.
  • Screw the cartridge retaining ring 12 tightly into position with fitting or siphon pliers.
  • Screw in the cartridge covering ring 11 tightly by hand and place the tap lever on the cartridge.
  • Fix the tap lever 8 by tightening the hex grub screw 10 in a clockwise direction using the hex head key 14 .
  • Insert the plate 9 into the tap lever 8 .
  • Turn on the water supply.
  • Note: Over-tightening the cartridge retaining ring 12 may make the tap lever 8 difficult to move. If this is the case, slightly loosen the cartridge retaining ring 12 again.

Information

Checking if tap water is drinkable

Ask your local authorities whether the water in your town/municipality is drinkable.
In general the following recommendations apply for the drinking water quality of tap water:

  • Do not use any stagnant water to prepare dishes or drinks, and in particular to feed infants.
  • Failure to observe these instructions may have negative health effects. You can tell when water is fresh because it comes out of the tap noticeably colder than stagnant water.
  • If you are allergic to nickel, do not use any stagnant water from chromed pipes either for consumption or for washing in. Such water can have a high nickel content and can cause allergic reactions.
  • Do not use drinking water from pipes containing lead to prepare food for infants and/or to prepare foods during regnancy.
  • Lead is released into drinking water and poses particular heath dangers for pregnant women, infants and small children.
