Infrared Sensor Tips
· Make sure the target to measure is larger than the red dot from the IR sensor. Ideally, the target should be double the size of the red dot or bigger.
· As the distance from the target increases, the area measured by the sensor will be larger. The smaller the target, the closer you should be.
· The Infrared Sensor cannot measure through transparent surfaces. You will see the temperature of the transparent surface instead.
· Not recommended for shiny or polished surfaces. · Steam, dust, smoke, etc., can obstruct the unit’s optics.
Safety
· Do not point the IR Laser at a human or animal’s eyes. · Avoid pointing the IR laser at a shiny or polished surface that can reflect the
laser into an eye. · Do not allow the IR laser beam to impinge on any gas or area which can
explode. · Avoid pointing the Probe Sensor at anything living. · This is a fast-read thermometer; do not put it in the oven with your food.
