- Disconnect the existing white power supply from the ONT and the wall outlet.
- Stack the three battery units and the PSI power supply on the backplane.
- Connect the rechargeable battery stack to the ONT using supplied power cord.
- Press the Cold Start Button on the Battery Backup Unit.
- Make sure the battery is on and the ONT is working.
Check and replace
Important info
One battery stack will provide approximately 24 hours of backup power.
Check your batteries
It’s important to check your batteries periodically to ensure full charge in
case of a power outage. Your batteries will automatically display the charge
level when turned on. If the battery is exhausted, replace it with one of the
standby units.
Troubleshoot
If your phone does not have a dial tone during a power outage:
- Check your ONT, gateway and rechargeable batteries
- Make sure a corded phone is plugged into the gateway
If your ONT doesn’t have power, make sure:
- The ONT is plugged into the rechargeable battery.
- The rechargeable battery is turned on.
- The rechargeable battery still has a charge.
