SELF-REPAIR GUIDE & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The manufacturer cannot be held liable if you fail to follow the instructions provided.
For repairs, always refer to the items published on the Brand’s website, in particular the product and part use instructions, assembly and disassembly videos, as well as this self-repair guide.
Products under warranty must be entrusted to a SEB Approved Repair Centre for costs to be covered (a list of repair professionals is available online).
WARRANTY INFORMATION
- Products under warranty must be entrusted to a SEB Approved Repair Centre to retain the benefits of the warranty (list of repair centres accessible on the internet).
- The repairs performed by you are not guaranteed by the manufacturer.
SPARE PARTS
- Always buy your parts from an Approved Repair Centre or on the brand’s website.
- Do not use parts reserved for professionals.
- Parts that require calibration and batteries that cannot be accessed without dismantling the appliance are not sold on our sites. Please contact an Approved Service Centre for any repairs.
- Do not use used or damaged parts.
- The parts supplied are factory-set. Never modify or adjust before use.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS
- Before starting repairs, consult the “Tools necessary for repair” section to see a list of the tools you must usewhen dismantling and assembling the appliance.
- Always use the right size and model of screwdriver as indicated in the product or part instructions, and the assembly and disassembly videos. Non-compliance with these instructions may lead to the screw heads and the product being damaged.
- For all stages requiring tools, work in such a way that the tool is never directed towards you or any third party, in order to avoid the risk of cuts or injuries.
- Work on a clear, clean work surface away from heat sources or water.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS REGARDING PEOPLE AND PROPERTY
- Repairs cannot be carried out by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience or knowledge.
- Wear protective gloves during repair.
- When handling electronic parts, you must wear an anti-static strap.
- Avoid wearing clothes with full sleeves, or jewellery on your wrists or fingers.
- Do not allow long hair, scarves, ties etc. to dangle over the appliance.
- To avoid electric shocks, never use the parts with wet hands, or on a damp or wet surface. Avoid wetting the appliance’s electrical components. Never immerse them in water.
BEFORE ANY REPAIR
- Where applicable, read the instructions for the spare part before beginning the repair.
- Check that the product you want to repair is T-FAL, ROWENTA or KRUPS.
- Switch off the appliance, unplug it and wait until it has cooled down completely.
- In the case of a product equipped with a removable battery, remove it.
- Always empty the appliance and any additional tanks of their contents, and clean them.
DURING REPAIR
- Carry out the repair alone: do not work on repairs with several people.
- Do not leave the appliance open unattended and/or near a child.
- Make sure to carry out all of the repair steps carefully, as indicated in the video or in the assembly and disassembly instructions.
- Do not dismantle or handle parts other than those required to repair your product.
- Only open the appliances when indicated.
- Replace all damaged parts during the work.
- Before closing your product, make sure that all the electrical wires have been connected, are not pinched, that all parts are assembled and that no tools or foreign bodies remain inside the appliance.
- If you have any doubts about the repair, disassembly/reassembly or the use of a tool or spare part, contact customer services before continuing or reusing the product.
BEFORE REUSING THE APPLIANCE
- Clean your product before use.
- Connect your product to a grounded socket that matches the voltage and current of the product tested. Your electrical circuit must comply with the regulations in force.
- Never touch any moving parts while the appliance is in operation.
- Follow the recycling instructions: Use the collection service provided by your local authority, reseller or SEB, or take your item to a specific collection point intended for the disposal of this type of part. You are legally responsible for deleting any personal data contained on the part to be discarded. Until removed, make sure that your old part does not pose a danger to children.
