OVERVIEW
The trick to installing the panels is installing them securely in the right place. We’ve made this simple for you by providing templates to accurately locate and drill mounting holes on the door to securely attach the MOLLE panels. This guarantees proper installation every time.
PREP
There’s really no prep for installing this hardware. We’ve designed the installation to be as easy aspossible and leave very little room for error. That being said, if you’re not comfortable doing this installation, reach out to us and we can talk you through it or we can help you find a reputable service location to do the installation for you. You got this!
INSTALLATION
STEP 1, INSTALL RIVNUTS
Using the provided paper templates, tape each one to the appropriate spot on the door. We suggest using blue painter’s tape to avoid damaging the door’s paint.
Use a center punch to mark each hole location on the door. These marks will tell you where to drill holes to receive the revenues.
- Remove the templates and drill at each point using a 3/8″ drill bit.
DO NOT LET THE DRILL BIT HIT THE BACK OF THE DOOR SKIN. USE A DRILL STOP COLLAR OR OTHER DEVICE TO PREVENT DENTING OR DAMAGING THE EXTERIOR OF THE DOOR.
INSTALL REVENUES
Thread the rivnut onto the rivnut tool and place the rivnut into one of the specified holes, taking care to ensure the rivnut is fully seated against its flange as shown in the image to the right. Once the rivnut feels snug in the hole (cannot rotate freely), tighten the bolt head 1/4 turn more. Do not overtighten the rivnut. This could damage the Rivnut threads. Repeat this process for all 8 rivnut locations. Use a 9/16″ wrench to hold the outside of the tool and a ratchet with a 10mm socket to turn the bolt head of the tool. While ensuring the rivnut flange stays flat against the door, tighten the bolt of the tool.
STEP 2, INSTALL MOLLE PANELS
Insert the M6x45mm bolts into the correct holes of each panel. Place the spacer on the bolts and apply a thread locker to the bolt. Tighten the bolts slowly to allow the panel to flex and form a curve that follows the shape of the door. Snug the bolts once the bolt head is flat against the panel. Do not overtighten bolts.
