1. Setting Up the Stand:

The folding stand consists of 3 elements: the wooden stand, the

Foldable stand
The folding stand consists of 3 elements: the wooden stand on which the VoxiVision will be placed, the vertical stand (equipped with a rotating stop) and the metal tray (with a QR Code on) on which the document will be placed.

Steps to unfold the stand: 1 – Hold the metal tray
· Move it away from the wooden support: there is a slight resistance here · Rotate it until it cannot move any more (you will feel a click) 2 – Hold the wooden stand · Rotate it until it cannot move any more Position the metal tray and the wooden stand, facing you. To place a document perfectly, you can lower the rotating stop at the bottom of the vertical stand to the right side.
VoxiVision remote
The VoxiVision remote control lets you activate voice recognition. This is useful when the VoxiVision is on its stand.

To connect the remote for the first time, go to Settings > Wireless connections > Pairing remote, and then follow the instructions. Or use the voice command “remote”.
Power on / off
To turn on your VoxiVision, press and hold the On / Off button (located on the right side under the volume buttons) until you feel a vibration. It takes less than a minute to fully turn on the device. If the VoxiVision does not turn on, you may need to charge it. To shut down your VoxiVision, make a long press on the On / Off button and choose « Shut down ».
Sleep Mode
To set sleep mode, double press the On / Off button. By default, VoxiVision goes to sleep after 2 minutes of inactivity (time can be changed in the Advanced settings). To exit the sleep mode, single press the On / Off button.
Choice of version/mode
There are two modes available: · Basic mode: Access to only the main functions with simplified navigation (with only the 3 buttons on the navigation bar)

Voice commands
You can also control your device by voice using voice commands (see Chapter 8 for Standard mode). To launch a voice command, press the On / Off button, located on the right side of your VoxiVision. Once you hear a beep (a blinking microphone appears on the screen), you can start speaking. The speech recognition stops as soon as you stop talking. Or press the central button on the remote (if you have already paired it).

Charging
To charge your VoxiVision, plug the charger into the USB Type-C port on your VoxiVision (located on the bottom middle edge). When the battery drops below 20%, you will get a notification on the home screen. To check the battery level, long press the On/Off button (located on the right side of the VoxiVision) or use the voice command “battery”.

1 ­ Reading machine
Automatic reading (with stand) Put your VoxiVision on the wooden stand, as soon as you hear “Autoread enabled”, you can place your document on the metal tray. As soon as your hands are no longer over the document, reading starts automatically. You can interact whilst it is reading in 2 ways:
· With hand gestures
Pause / Resume reading Right hand (flat above the document)
Read the previous sentence Left hand (flat above the document) As long as you leave your left hand over the document, you can move back from sentence to sentence
· Or via voice commands: press the button on the remote control and say “play” / “pause” or “previous”
To stop reading, remove the document from the metal tray. The VoxiVision is ready for the next document.

On the stand, in automatic reading, the text recognition is read in audio only (without text). If you wish to display the text, simply hold the VoxiVision in your hand, the text will appear on the screen and playback will continue.

Read across columns This function lets you read a table line by line. To enable this feature, long press the On/Off button, then choose Settings > Customisation > Reading Machine: Read across columns and choose Enable.

The VoxiVision needs to be in its stand to do this. Put your VoxiVision on the wooden stand, as soon as you hear “reading across columns enabled”, you can place your document on the metal tray. As soon as your hands are no longer over the document, reading starts automatically If you wish to display the text, simply hold the VoxiVision in your hand, the text will appear on the screen and playback will continue.
2 – Scanner
This mode combines the barcode reader, label reader and banknote detector on a single screen. You can use the scanner either in your hand or on the stand. Barcode reader Position your VoxiVision at least 15 cm above your product. Present the different sides of your product until you hear a beep indicating that a barcode has been detected. The VoxiVision will then announce the name of the product it has identified. Barcode customisation allows you to add information by voice to an existing barcode (e.g. dosage of a medicine, cooking time of a food, etc.) or to add your own barcodes if they are unknown.

Once the result of a barcode has been announced, press the middle button. Press the middle button again to start then stop recording (maximum recording time is 1 minute). Next time you scan the barcode, the speech synthesis will announce the name the product announced followed by your customised recording. By pressing the middle button (represented by a bin), you can delete your recording. Deleting a customised barcode will only erase your voice recording and not the product from the database.
Voice labeller Take one of the labels from the label sheet, then move your VoxiVision over the label (be sure to position your device at least 15 cm from the label). As soon as the label is detected, you will feel a vibration.

Start recording your voice by pressing the middle button. Press again this button to end the recording (maximum recording time is 1 minute).
If you move your VoxiVision over an already recorded label, you will feel a vibration and the corresponding recording will automatically play back.
By pressing the middle button (represented by a bin), you can delete your recording. You can then reuse this label for a new recording.
These labels are water resistant and reusable.
Banknote detector Place a banknote under the VoxiVision, its value will be instantly displayed on the screen and voiced.
3 – Magnifier
By default, this function is hidden. To enable this feature, long press the On/Off button, then choose Settings > Customisation > Show magnifier.

Image freeze To freeze the image, press the volume up button (located on the right edge of the VoxiVision). Once the image is frozen, you can enlarge or reduce it (middle and left buttons) or pinch the screen directly with 2 fingers. You can move within this image with one finger on the screen. To exit freeze mode, press the volume up button again.

Enhanced 2 colour mode By pressing the volume down button located on the right edge of the VoxiVision, you can change the colour modes (before or after freezing the image). In addition to full colour, you can choose between 6 different enhanced colour combinations
The last used colour combination is saved by default. Each time you want to change colour combinations, they will be in the following order: your preferred colour scheme, full colour and the other enhanced colour combinations.
To customise the list of colour combinations, long press the On/Off button then choose Settings > Customisation > Magnifier > Enhanced 2 colour mode customisation.

1/ READING MACHINE
Automatic reading (with stand)
Put your VoxiVision on the wooden stand, as soon as you hear “Autoread enabled”, you can place your document on the metal tray. As soon as your hands are no longer over the document, reading starts automatically. VoxiVision can detect and read documents in their original language (see supported languages at the end of the manual). You can interact during playback with hand gestures.

Smart extraction Automatic detection of telephone numbers, postal addresses and email addresses in text recognition results. These are only displayed if results are detected.
Translation Translation is available into more than 10 languages.
Reading by word / character To enable this feature, go to Settings > Advanced settings > Reading machine: Reading by word / character.
To start using this function, long press with one finger anywhere on the screen where you want to read by word or character. From then on, you can move from word to word using the arrows in the navigation bar.
When you stop on a word, it is automatically spelled out.

To turn off word-by-word reading, long press with one finger on the screen again. This also works when reading text from the Gallery.
Handwriting recognition
VoxiVision can accurately read handwriting. This advanced recognition only works if VoxiVision is connected to the Internet (see Chapter 7 ­ Settings > Wireless connections).
Read across columns
This function lets you read a table line by line. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Advanced settings > Reading machine: Read across columns.

To start reading across columns, press the left button on the navigation bar.
Reading across columns requires the VoxiVision to be in the stand. Put your VoxiVision on the wooden stand, as soon as you hear “reading across columns enabled”, you can position your document on the metal tray.
As soon as your hands are no longer over the document, reading starts automatically. If you wish to display the text, simply hold the VoxiVision in your hand, the text will appear on the screen and playback will continue.
2/ MULTIPLE PAGES
The multiple pages mode allows you to extract text from several documents in sequence and save them in a single document.
Place your VoxiVision on the wooden stand, as soon as you hear “Multiple pages enabled”, you can then position your document on the metal tray.
The document will be automatically detected and processing of the first page will start.
It will only start if no hand is detected above the document so that you have time to position your document correctly.
However, if you need to use your hands to hold the document flat (e.g. for a book), you can still force the document to be captured using the voice command “read”.
Once the first page has been captured, you will have the choice either to place a new document or to end and save.
To place a new document, remove your current document and place a new document on the metal tray. The processing is automatically launched and takes a few seconds.
You can repeat the process up to 50 pages.
At the end of the process, you have 2 options for saving: · Via a gesture: position your right fist above the document · Via voice command: say “save”
The current document is automatically saved, after 2 minutes of inactivity.
The document will be saved in the Gallery > Text recognition. Filename will start with “multipages” followed by a number.
3/ SCANNER
The scanner combines a barcode reader, a voice labeller and a banknote detector on a single screen.

Barcode
Position your VoxiVision at least 15 cm above your product. Present the different sides of your product until you hear a beep indicating that a barcode has been detected. Once the result is on the screen, if you want to scan a barcode again, go back to the previous screen (two-finger press on the screen). Barcode customisation / Add new barcode Barcode customisation allows you to add information by voice to an existing barcode (e.g. dosage of a medicine, cooking time of a food, etc.) or to add your own barcodes if the barcode is unknown. Once you hear the barcode result, press the middle button.
Customise / add barcode Middle button
Press the middle button again to start then stop recording (maximum recording time is 1 minute). VoxiVision is supplied with 50 reusable, cold- and water-resistant labels. Take one of the labels from the label sheet, then move your VoxiVision over the label (be sure to position your device at least 15 cm from the label). As soon as the label is detected, you will feel a vibration. Start recording your voice by pressing the middle button. Press again this button to end the recording (maximum recording time is 1 minute). If you move your VoxiVision over an already recorded label, you will feel a vibration and the corresponding recording will automatically play back. To listen to the recording again, one-finger tap anywhere on the screen. By pressing the middle button (represented by a bin), you can delete your recording. You can then reuse this label for a new recording.

Banknote
Place a banknote under the VoxiVision, its value will be instantly displayed on the screen and voiced.
To change the currency, go to Settings > Advanced settings > Scanner (banknote): Currency choice.
Updating barcode and banknote databases To check if an update is available, go to Settings > System > Databases update.
You must be connected to the Internet (see chapter 7 – Settings > Wireless connections).

4/ MAGNIFIER
The magnifier can be used in portrait or landscape mode.

5/ GALLERY
The gallery allows you to view text files saved from the Reading Machine or Multipage pages as well as images saved from the Magnifier.
Text file (Text recognition folder)
Files are sorted from the most recent to the oldest one. Select from the list the file you wish to consult.
Once inside the selected text, the navigation bar changes.

USB Reader
Plug a USB storage device into the USB Type-C port on the bottom middle edge. If your storage device is not compatible with Type-C, use a USB Type-A to Type-C adapter. Compatible formats: FAT32, NTFS, ex-FAT Once the USB storage device is connected, it will be visible on the root of the Gallery. File types displayed:
· Text file: text (.txt), Word (.doc, .docx), Open Office (.odt), PDF (.pdf) · Image: .gif, .jpg, .png
PDF Reader By default, the PDF reader displays the text version of the document. If you want to display the original format, press the middle button.

6/ OTHER FEATURES
Voice recorder
By default, the voice recorder is hidden on the home screen. To make it visible, go to Settings > Advanced settings > Home screen: customisation, then select the Voice recorder with the middle button.
To create a new recording, select « Create a new recording ». The recording will start automatically (maximum recording time: 90 minutes).
While recording, you can pause the recorder by one-finger tap anywhere on the screen. To continue recording, one-finger tap anywhere on the screen again.
To end the recording, press the middle button.
The recordings are sorted from the most recent to the oldest one.
Once the record is selected on the screen, the navigation bar changes.

Wireless casting
Once you have connected your VoxiVision to an external screen (using the Wireless casting function – see Chapter 7), the content of your VoxiVision is displayed on the external screen.
This special mode is designed for use on a large screen, with access only to the reading machine and the gallery. At this point, VoxiVision automatically switches to landscape mode.
Reading machine (automatic reading) Works only with the stand. See Chapter 1 (Reading machine > Automatic reading) for more information. If you wish to display the text, simply hold the VoxiVision in your hand during audio playback. The text will then appear on the screen and playback will continue.
Gallery Consultation of Gallery content (see Chapter 5), with a reduced number of options. You can also view the contents of a USB stick.
Silent reading While reading a text document, you can switch to silent reading (by pressing the middle button). Silent reading deactivates the speech output, so that you can read the text on the screen at your own pace. In this configuration, the up and down arrows are used to scroll through the text line by line. Pressing the middle button again deactivates silent reading. The speech output is activated and resumes at the last position of the text on the screen.
Connecting to a computer
You can connect your VoxiVision to a computer. Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable between the USB Type-C port of your VoxiVision (located on the bottom middle edge) and the USB port of your computer. Note that your VoxiVision must be turned on and not on standby.

Once connected (your device will be called VoxiVision on your computer), you will have access to the contents of your VoxiVision’s Internal Storage (Voxivision folder) :
· Texts: ocr folder (txt file) · Translations: translation folder (txt file) · Images: images folder (jpg file) · Voice recorder recordings: voice-recorder folder (mp3 file) · Customised barcodes: barcodes folder (mp3 file) · Labels: labels folder (mp3 file)
On a Mac, you first need to download a program called Android File Transfer (https://www.android.com/filetransfer) to make the connection.

Wireless connections
Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is deactivated by default. To use Wi-Fi, select the « Enable Wi-Fi » menu.
To connect to a new network, you have 2 options:
· Via a Wi-Fi QR code (often located at the back of your Internet box): Choose “Scan a QR code” and put your VoxiVision over the QR code. The connection will be established automatically.
· Via the list of available Wi-Fi networks: Choose “Available networks” and select the network you want from the list. Then enter the Wi-Fi key (using the T9 keyboard), and confirm. If the Wi-Fi key is correct, the connection will be established automatically.
To reconnect to an already registered network, go to “Available networks”, select the network name (indicated by “(saved)” after the network name) and choose “Connect to network”.
To delete a network, go to “Available networks”, select the network name and choose “Forget network”.
Bluetooth Bluetooth is activated by default.
If you want to add a new Bluetooth audio device, choose “Pair a new audio device”. Your VoxiVision will scan all available Bluetooth devices (audio device only) around you; the process takes about 20 seconds. Select the device name to finalise the pairing.
This is followed by a list of devices that have already been connected at least once. By selecting the name of a device, you can connect it, disconnect it (if already connected) or unpair it.
Pairing remote To pair the remote control with the VoxiVision.
Wireless casting This feature lets you wirelessly stream content from your VoxiVision to an external screen.
Requirements: The screen must be a connected TV / screen. If not, you will need to connect an HDMI dongle to your external screen to enable this link.
Once in this mode, VoxiVision will scan all compatible screens / monitors / TVs around you for 10 seconds.
To quickly reconnect to your screen, long press the On/Off button (located on the right edge of your VoxiVision) and choose “Wireless casting (quick access)”.

To activate Basic mode.

Updates
You must be connected to the Internet to check for updates. If an update is available, you will see a new section called “Update available” on the home screen. Follow the instructions on the screen to launch the update.

Precautions of use

an electric shock. · The product is not water or dust resistant, keep it dry. Prevent any contact with liquid. · If dust or foreign objects get into the microphone, speaker or receiver, the sound of the device may become
inaudible or some functions may not work. If you try to remove dust or foreign objects with a sharp object, you may damage the product and affect its appearance. · Do not store your product in extremely hot or cold places. · Do not expose your product to heat sources or direct sunlight for long periods. · Be careful not to expose the camera lens to a strong light source, such as direct sunlight. · Charge the product in an environment between 5°C and 35°C.

Limited Warranty The product is covered by limited warranty of twenty-four (24) months. The limited warranty starts at the day of purchase of the product by the first end user. The limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship. All other warranties, express or implied are disclaimed. The following conditions are not covered by the warranty:
· Normal wear and tear of the product and reduction in the battery charge by its use · Damage resulting from improper use, exposure to humidity, or liquid, or proximity to a heat source · Cracked or broken devices, or devices with visible signs of shocks · Broken glass or broken screen · Damage resulting from using accessories or connectors not supplied by the manufacturer · Damage caused by an accident, fall, abuse or misuse · Failure to respect the information provided by Voxiweb in the Precautions of use · Damage caused by an inadequate voltage or power supply · Damage caused by a force majeure such as floods, fires, earthquakes, and lightning · Alterations or modifications to any part of the product · Damage resulting from an attempted repair done by anyone without the manufacturer’s authorisation · Recovery of user data in case of reinstallation of software The software of the product is provided as it is, with all its possible defects. The manufacturer is in no way responsible for data loss caused by a malfunction, repair or replacement of the product.
Limits of the manufacturer’s liability The warranty described herein sets out the full extent of Voxiweb responsibilities, and the exclusive remedy regarding the product. In no event will Voxiweb be liable for damages in excess of the purchase price of the product or for, without limitation, commercial loss of any sort; loss of use, time, data, reputation, opportunity, goodwill, profits or savings; inconvenience; or incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages.
