Product Description

The sterile, single-use 6 mL Colostrum Collector is a container with lid. The Colostrum Collector is designed to fit seamlessly between the Symphony® breast pump connector and breast shield and is for use with the Symphony breast pump.

WARNING

Can lead to serious injury or death.

  • Do not use if the packaging is open or damaged prior to use.
  • The packaging should be inspected for holes, tears, broken seals, etc.
  • This is a single-use product not intended to be reused or reprocessed. Reprocessing could cause loss of mechanical, chemical and/or biological characteristics. Reuse could cause cross-contamination.
  • Use a new disposable Colostrum Collector for each pumping session.

CAUTION
Can lead to minor injury.

  • Use Medela Symphony breast pump kit only.

Colostrum Collector Parts:

Assembly:

The Colostrum Collector is sterile and does not need to be cleaned prior to use.

  1. Remove the Colostrum Collector from the packaging.
  2. Avoid touching the inside of the lid or collector and set aside.
  3. Attach the bottom of Colostrum Collector to the Symphony breast pump kit connector. Orient Colostrum Collector with the two raised marks (smiley faces) facing up.*medela 1549914 Colostrum Collector - Figure 1
  4. Attach the breast shield to the top of the Colostrum Collector.medela 1549914 Colostrum Collector - Figure 2
  5. Assemble the remaining breast pump kit as directed in the Symphony breast pump kit instructions.medela 1549914 Colostrum Collector - Figure 3

*Note: Orientation is important to ensure the vent hole is facing up. Orientating any other way may result in colostrum spilling from vent hole and into the connector.

Disassembly:

  1. Gently remove Colostrum Collector from connector and leave the breast shield attached.
  2. Place the Colostrum Collector on a flat surface.
  3. Remove the breast shield.
  4. Secure the lid to the Colostrum Collector.
  5. Store colostrum according to hospital guidelines.
  6. After administering colostrum per hospital guidelines, dispose of or recycle* the Colostrum Collector and lid.
