Safety Precautions
DANGER
- Failure to comply with these safety precautions results in death or serious injury;
- ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD! Always turn off, disconnect, and disengage all power sources to the projector before servicing;
WARNING
Failure to comply with these safety precautions may result in serious injury.
- At least two qualified people should perform the installation procedure. Personal injury and/or property damage can result from dropping or mishandling the projector;
- If mounting to ceiling studs, make sure that the mounting screws are anchored into the center of the ceiling studs. Use of an edge-to-edge stud finder is recommended;
- Be aware of the mounting environment. If drilling and/or cutting into the mounting surface, always make sure that there are no electrical wires in the wall;
- Do not install near sources of high heat. Do not install on a structure that is prone to vibration, movement or chance of impact.
INSTALLATION SAFETY
KITE can only be used by skilled staff who also have the authorization to
TRANSPORT, INSTALL and ADJUST the projector in complete safety based on the
necessary knowledge and competence.
In order to avoid injuries, it is necessary to comply with the following
safety rules:
- Use KITE with a projector or projector’s cage only in environments which are not exposed to weather events.
- Make sure the projector is compatible with the cage on which it is fitted, as using incompatible projectors could cause serious damages and injuries.
- Do not place KITE on: unstable surfaces, walls or unsuitable structures.
- For STACKING, make sure all safety PINS are fastened with their safety locks, then make sure all nuts are tightened correctly onto the threaded PINS.
- Do not mount KITE or the projector when people are standing underneath the installation area.
- Always fasten KITE to the TRUSS with a steel safety cord using the specific eyelets: in case of fault or failure, the cord must ensure the cage not to be falling down lower than 5 cm.
- Please read the local rules and regulations to comply with any possible additional safety rules for hanging loads.
- Before mounting the projectors on KITE, carefully read the user’s manual for both products.
- If the projector is equipped with an additional lens, make sure it is removed during the installation process.
- At least 2 people are required to install KITE.
- To avoid any risks during assembly and disassembly process:
- Wear gloves, helmet and suitable safety shoes,
- Make sure the underlying area is cleared and free.
- Carefully follow the instructions described in the manual for STACKING KITES.
- Do not stack more than 3 KITES on the floor and no more than 2 hanging.
The supporting structures and their components must be certified to support the cage and projector weight.
ELPMB77 Projector Connection
-
Work on a flat surface,
-
Lay the projector (with fastening holes upwards).
-
Place KITE on the projector (see picture),
-
Make sure the fastening holes of the cage and of the projector are aligned.
-
Tighten the screws available in the package (with their washers),
-
Make sure the tightening torque is at least 4Nm (also based on the instructions for the projector).
-
NB: The projector, screws and center distances indicated in the pictures above are merely an example for installation. Before mounting, it is necessary to check that the projector fastening positions are compatible with the KITE plate.
Angle Adjustment
The projector can rotate around the 3 rotation axes:
- ROLL
- PITCH
- YAW
ROLL
- Use both manual adjustment systems on the side and set the projector position (as shown in the picture) with a +/- 8° angle.
- In order for the projector to roll around this axis, the two knobs must be turned in the opposite direction.
PITCH
- The rotation around this axis can be obtained: by turning the two front knobs in the same direction and by turning the rear one in the opposite direction.
- Also in this case, the rotation is +/- 8°.
YAW
When moving the rear sliding system, the projector will turn by +/- 4° as
shown in the picture.
In order to rotate the sliding system, it is necessary to:
- Loosen the 3 locking systems on the CLOCK PLATE (there is one for each manual adjusting system);
- Move the RATCHET (by setting the desired rotation direction);
- This way, the plate will turn clockwise or anti-clockwise;
- Once the plate has reached the desired angle, tighten the 3 locking systems, loosened at point 1.
Calibration and 0 Position
-
In order to calibrate PITCH and ROLL:
- Before mounting the projector, turn the 3 setting systems by bringing them into the completely closed position.
- Place KITE upside down, so that the projector fastening plate lays on a flat surface (check with a bubble level that the surface is perfectly even, otherwise the KITE setting process will be influenced by the error).
- Watch the T-level fastened onto the projector plate.
- Make sure the 2 bubbles are in the middle.
- If not, move the 3 setting knobs until the calibration position is reached.
-
To find the 0 position for YAW:
- Place KITE with the ground support plate on the floor.
- Slide the rear sliding system.
- In the meantime, check the movement of the 2 rear plates, one of which is fixed and marked with notches and the other rotates together with the CLOCK plate.
- When the second plate indicator points the notch in the middle on the first plate, KITE is in the 0 position.
The notch in the middle indicates the 0 position, the shorter ones half a degree and the longest ones one degree, thus obtaining the +/-4° position.
Maintenance
Do not try to service this product yourself, except as specifically explained in this User’s Guide. Refer all other servicing to qualified service personnel.
HARDWARE’S INSPECTION
- The ELPMB79 arm adapter does not require special maintenance, but a visual inspection must be conducted before each installation involving the system.
- Please conduct a visual inspection to ensure that all screws are in the correct positions and none are missing.
- Tighten any loose hardware as needed to maintain stability and prevent the risk of the projector falling or becoming misaligned.
- Ensure that screws, nuts and all components are not bent, damaged, or broken.
- Please use the appropriate tool to check that all screws are securely tightened.
- If any parts are broken or missing, please contact the seller to obtain the necessary spare parts.
CLEANING
- Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe down the mount’s surfaces, removing any dust or dirt. For stubborn stains or dirt buildup, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage the mount’s finish. Ensure that the mount is completely dry before reattaching the projector to prevent any electrical issues.
LUBRICATION OF MOVING PARTS (IF APPLICABLE):
If the projector mount includes moving parts such as hinges or swivel mechanisms, apply a small amount of lubricant to ensure smooth operation. Use a lubricant recommended by the manufacturer to prevent damage to the mount’s components.
CONCLUSIONS
By following this maintenance plan, you can keep your mount adapter and in optimal condition, prolonging their lifespan and ensuring reliable performance for your presentations or entertainment needs.
