Product Usage Instructions
Connecting to Computer
- Connect the main unit to a computer using a USB to UART cable.
- Ensure the computer is connected to the Internet.
Activating Test Software
- Activate the WAIOT-N test software.
- Verify the serial number of the main unit and the IMSI serial number of the SIM card.
- Enter the test location and tester information.
Testing Procedures
- Manual Tests
Please test in the following order:
1. **Manual On:** Click TEST button to activate alarm buzzer.
2. **Manual Off:** Click TEST button to turn off alarm buzzer.
3. **Auto Off:** Click TEST button, alarm buzzer will turn off automatically after 1 minute.
- Battery and Relay Tests
Please test in the following order:
1. **Battery Voltage:** Measure cabinet battery voltage with WhaleTeq DFS200 tester.
2. **AED Relay Status:** Check AED weight sensor status.
3. **Door Relay Status:** Check door sensor status.
- Self-Check and Sound Tests
Please test in the following order:
1. **Self Checking:** Test AED self-test sound.
2. **Low Power:** Test alert sound for low battery.
3. **PCB Error:** Test alert sound for anomalies.
Network Connection Test
This test item shows the network connection status of the WAIOT-N.
Signal Strength: Current signal strength value (range: -51 ~ -113dBm).

How do I connect the main unit to a computer?
Use a USB to UART cable to connect the main unit to a computer for on-site inspection and maintenance. -
How can I check the connection status between the main unit and the WhaleTeq AED CMMS PLATFORM?
The Link LED indicates the connection status between the main unit and the platform. -
What should I do if the signal strength is weak?
If the signal strength is less than -85dBm, a poor signal strength warning will pop up. Check for possible signal interference or move to a location with better reception.

Test Software – Before starting the tests
- Connect a computer to the WAIOT-N main unit using a USB to UART cable and make sure that the computer connects to the Internet.
- Activate the WAIOT-N test software.
- Check the serial number of the connected WAIOT-N and the IMSI serial number of the SIM card are correct.
- Enter the test location and tester.
Test Software – Buzzer Testing
Please test in the following order, and before performing each test item, make sure that the cabinet is closed and the AED is in the cabinet.

Manual On
Click the TEST button.- Successfully activate the alarm buzzer: click (Y)
- Fail to activate the alarm buzzer: click (N)

Manual Off
Click the TEST button to turn off the alarm buzzer.- Successfully turn off the alarm buzzer: click (Y)
- Fail to turn off the alarm buzzer: click (N)

Auto Off
Click the TEST button, and the alarm buzzer will keep ringing for 1 minute and then turn off automatically.- Automatically turn off: click (Y)
- Fail to automatically turn off: click (N)
Test Software – Cabinet Testing
Please test in the following order:

Battery Voltage
Please use the WhaleTeq DFS200 tester with a battery measurement probe to measure the voltage of the cabinet battery and manually enter the test result. -
AED Relay Status
After clicking the Test button, please press or release the AED weight sensor, and check whether the corresponding result appears on the window (press:
AED in place; release: AED taken away).- Correct status: click (Y)
- Incorrect status: click (N)

Door Relay Status
After clicking the Test button, please press or release the door sensor, and check whether the corresponding result appears on the window (press:
Cabinet enclosure door closed; release: Cabinet enclosure door open).- Correct status: click (Y)
- Incorrect status: click (N)
Test Software – AED Status Detection
Please test in the following order, and the test results will appear in the window

Self Checking
Click the TEST button to play the AED self-test sound. -
Low Power
Click the TEST button to play the alert sound of AED low battery. -
PCB Error
Click the TEST button to play the alert sound of AED anomalies.
Note: For the 3 test items, after the WAIOT-N successfully detects the sound, the software will determine the result as PASS; if it fails to detect, the software will continue to play the sound.
Test Software – SIM Status
This test item shows the network connection status of the WAIOT-N.
- Signal Strength
- Shows the value of current signal strength (range: -51 ~ – 113dBm). A smaller value represents that the signal is weaker.
- If the value is less than -85dBm, a poor signal strength warning will pop up, and the test result will be determined as FAIL.
- Connection Status
** | Status| Description
---|---|---
1| Idle| The WAIOT-N has no action.
2| SIM Not Ready| The SIM card is not inserted into the WAIOT-N.
3| SIM Detected| The SIM card is detected.
4| APN Connecting| The SIM card has not connected to the base station.
5| AWS Connecting| The SIM card has not connected to the server.
6| AWS Connected**| The connection is established and operating properly
Note:
1. The connection time for this test item is about 10 minutes.
2. Due to the firmware settings, there will be disconnections and reconnections in the first 5~10 minutes of connection. After the “AWS Connected” status appears, please wait for 1~2 minutes to determine whether the connection status is stable.
Test Software – Misc. (SD card) and Save Test Reports
- Misc. (SD card)
Click the TEST button to perform a read/write test on the SD card. Test Result| Description and Solutions
---|---
PASS| This function and the SD card are operating properly.
FAIL (one time)| Record and report the situation to WhaleTeq, and then repeat the test.
FAIL (more than five times)| Please reinsert the SD card, or replace it with a new one. - Save Test Reports
- Enter a user-defined report number and click the Save button to save and export the test report to create an installation or test record.
- Click the folder button to bring up the folder where the test report is.
Establish the connection between the WAIOT-N and WhaleTeq AED CMMS
PLATFORM

Log in to the AED CMMS PLATFORM and select Product sales MGT.
-
Select Sales MGT.
-
In the Equipment No. field, enter the serial number of the AED that is newly installed with the WAIOT-N, and click Search.

Click Update of the corresponding AED to bring up Modify equipment sales information window. (see next page)

In the Modify equipment sales information window, scroll the Basic information tab to the bottom and click Next step to go to the Monitor information tab.

Click Add to bring up the Choose monitor window, and check the AED status and AED cabinet status, then click Confirm. These two items will appear on the Monitor information tab.

Click Edit of AED status and AED cabinet status to bring up the Modification of monitor window. (see next page)

In the Modification of monitor window, enter the serial number of WAIOT-N in the IoT Number field and click Confirm to save. The serial number will appear on the IoT Number field in the Monitor information tab. Click Confirm in this tab to go to the next tab.

In the Accessories information and Supplies information tabs, if no information needs to be modified, click Confirm to complete the setting of WAIOT-N on the AED CMMS PLATFORM.
Test the connection between the WAIOT-N and WhaleTeq AED CMMS PLATFORM
- Select Monitoring.
- Select Equipment data MGT.
- In the Equipment No. field, enter the serial number of the AED that completed the WAIOT-N settings on the AED CMMS PLATFORM, and click Search.
- Click Detail of the corresponding AED to bring up the Equipment data details window.
- Please ask the field inspector to open and close the door of the AED cabinet to test whether the AED CMMS PLATFORM receives the status sent by the WAIOT-N in real time. (Open: “Chassis open, AED in place”; Close: “Normal”)
