PERSONAL MONITOR HEADPHONES AMPLIFIER

Thank you for choosing an EIKON product.
IMPORTANT: read all the safety instructions that appear at the end of this document.
All EIKON products are CE approved and designed for continuous use in professional applications.

The MPAMP4 compact headphones amplifier features a pass-through MIC/LINE input and a STEREO/MONO monitor input with individual level controls. It is very useful in recording studios or on stages when you need to mix and listen to two sound sources together.
This headphones amplifier is designed for use with all types of in-ear or over-ear headphones and therefore offers maximum flexibility for personal monitoring.
It is typically used to combine your voice or instrument with other members of the band during a live concert or to listen to pre-recorded tracks during recording, allowing for customized mixing of the monitor signal.
The THRU connection allows you to directly feed your voice or instrument to other live or recording equipment.

OPERATIONS

  1. LEVEL MIC/LINE: using this control you can set the level of MIC/LINE input.
  2. LEVEL MONITOR IN: using this control you can set the level of MONITOR input.
  3. ON: this LED is illuminated as soon as the unit is connected to the power.
  4. MIC/LINE SWITCH: this switch sets the sensitivity of the MIC/LINE input.
  5. MIC/LINE IN: this is the connector where you plug in your personal microphone or instrument.
  6. THRU: this is the output connector where you plug in the cable to route the signal to the live or recording equipment.
  7. GND LIFT: this switch breaks the ground connection between MIC/LINE and MONITOR inputs. If a groundloop hum noise is present, try to press this button and  most probably it will disappear.
  8. L/MONO (MONITOR IN): this is where you plug in the MONITOR signal from the mixer. Use just the L/MONO connector if you have a MONO signal.
  9. R (MONITOR IN): use also the R connector if the monitor signal is STEREO.
  10. JACK HEADPHONES: 1/4” (6.3mm) stereo JACK output where you can connect your headphones.
  11. MINI-JACK HEADPHONES: 3.5mm stereo mini-JACK output, this connector is linked with the 1/4” headphones JACK.
  12. DC IN: this a USB type B connector to power your MPAMP4, connecting here the supplied AC/DC adapter you turn on the unit. Please note that is not a USB port for data connection, but it accepts the 5V supply only, so you can supply the MPAMP4 from almost any device capable to deliver 500mA from its USB port. When installing the product with the supplied AC/DC adapter, ensure that the plug is easily accessible.

CONNECTION EXAMPLE

The following image shows a typical connection:

WARNING: XLR THRU and COMBO XLR/JACK INPUT are connected directly, if you use a jack connected to your instrument do not activate the PHANTOM POWER from your daw/mixer if you are not sure that the instrument can handle it without damaging its outputs. Alternatively, you have to insert a DIBOX with insulation transformer to avoid this problem.
