SET UP & USE
PARTS & FEATURES
OPERATION OF YOUR FAN
USAGE
-
Fan Operation: Always operate the fan in the upright position following all instructions and recommendations listed in this manual.
-
Fan Location : Place the fan in the area of the room that will provide proper fan cooling. This fan can be placed in a window to provide additional FRESH air from outside. In this location, the fan can also be used to push inside air to the outside using the EXHAUST position.
-
Fan Connection: Plug the fan directly into 120 volts A.C., 60 Hz wall outlet. Be sure the plug fits tightly in the outlet. A loose connection may cause overheating and damage to the plug or fan.
Note: To prevent overloading a circuit, do not plug the fan into a circuit that is servicing other electrical needs. -
Turning Fan On/Off : To start the fan, rotate the Control Dial from the 0 position to the desired fan speed (I or II). Rotate the dial to 0 to discontinue use. Unplug the fan when not in use.
Installation for Double Hung Window:
- If space allows, screens can be left in place.
- Legs should not be installed when mounting in the window.
- Your fan comes fully assembled and is ready for window installation.
- This fan has been designed for a double-hung window with minimum openings of 22 -1/2” wide x 11-1/8” high.
- Before installation, be sure the side panels are in the retracted position.
- Open window at least 12”.
- Identify the front and back sides of the fan. For Fresh Air Operation (draw in fresh air from the outside), position the fan so the front side faces you. See the silkscreen indicator under the control dial “This Side – Fresh Air In”. For Exhaust Air Operation (pulls inside air out of the room), position the fan so the back side faces you. See the silkscreen indicator under the control dial “This Side – Exhaust Out”.
- Place one hand under the fan and grasp the recessed handle around the Control Dial with your other hand. With the power cord aligned in its slot and coming inside the house, position the bottom (lower edge) of the fan over the sill cap of the window while still holding the recessed handle. Use your free hand to lower the window sash down, making firm contact with the top of the fan (see Fig. 1). Secure the window sash in a down position tight against the fan top. Note: It is the customer’s responsibility to be sure the fan is secure in the window.
- Pull out each side panel until the space on the sides of the fan is fully blocked, making sure that the power cord is hanging inside the room. The side panels can be retracted back into the fan by pushing them inwards.
WARNING: A fan will not stop a child from falling out of the window. Keep children away from open windows. Fan Functions: FRESH AIR Operation draws fresh air in from the outside. EXHAUST AIR Operation pulls inside air out of the room.
Instructions for Floor or Table Use: Simple assembly is required to use this fan on a table or floor Locate 4 slots on the base of fan (See Fig. 2). Push fan leg into slot to lock in place. Repeat this action on the other leg.
