The repair damper blade described below is an original TROX component. The use
of components that have not been approved by TROX is not permitted.
Other applicable documentation
Installation and use of the fire damper is to be carried out in accordance
with the installation and operating manual for type FKRS-EU.
This can be found on the Internet at www.trox.de. All
other instructions here must be observed and applied.
General information regarding safety
Only specialist personnel are allowed to perform the described work on the
fire damper.
Classification
If the original TROX repair damper blade is correctly installed, the FKRS-EU
fire damper will have the verified fire resistance described in the
corresponding declaration of performance from DoP/FKRS-EU/DE/004.
Residual risks
TROX fire dampers are subject to strict quality controls during manufacturing.
In addition, a functional test is performed before shipping.
Damage can, however, occur during transport or installation and impair the
function of the fire damper.
In any case, the proper function of the fire damper must be checked during
commissioning and ensured through regular maintenance while in use.

Damper blade or blade
Element that can be hinged down and closes the air route to prevent the
penetration of fire and smoke.
Application
- Repair damper blades are designed to replace faulty or damaged damper blades.
Variants
- Damper blade in standard construction
- Damper blade with coating (impregnation)
Nominal sizes
- Repair damper blades can be supplied for FKRS-EU from NW 180 mm.
- NW 180 and 200 mm: damper blade with a thickness of 20 mm and corresponding specific axle mounting.
- NW 224 – 315 mm: damper blade with a thickness of 25 mm and corresponding specific axle mounting.

Before installation
Check the repair damper blade for transport damage. -
Observe the repair instructions.

Installation work may only be performed by specialist personnel.
The general UV regulations must be complied with.
After installation, a functional test must be carried out in accordance with the operating and installation manual for type FKRS-EU.
Removal / assembly
Removal of the old damper blade

Open the FKRS-EU and, using the handle, ensure that
it locks into place in the fusible link holder.

Cut through the old damper blade in the centre, e.g. by carefully sawing
through the blade using a suitable tool.
Removing the first half of the damper blade

Slowly close the blade, carefully separate the blade halves and remove the
first half by pulling it in an inwards direction.
To avoid damaging the existing axles, make sure that the damper blade halves
are not bent apart too force-fully. To ensure this, pull out out the damper
blade halves in the opposite direction from one another.

Remove the red fusible link holder (TORX T30 spanner).
Removing the lock washer on the rod

Remove the lock washer on the damper blade rod and loosen the rod from the
drive unit.
Detaching the rod

Once the lock washer has been removed, the rod can easily be detached.
Removing the second half of the damper blade

Carefully pull the second damper blade half to the centre from the axle and
remove it.
Check the riveting axes for damage or bending.
Note: Installation of the repair damper blade is only permitted if both axles
are straight and undamaged.

Positioning the screws

Push the screws from the front side through the drilled holes.

Screw in but do not tighten the rear plates with the screws!
Inserting the repair damper blade

Insert the repair damper blade into the damper housing so that the axles on
both sides are positioned in the mill-cut slots.
Installing the front plate on the drive side

Position the repair damper blade so that it is slightly slanted and mount the
front plate with rod coupling on the drive side so that the axle is fixed in
place.
Slide the plate with the slotted holes under the screw heads.

Slide the front plate on the drive side to the end of the slotted holes under
the screws and tighten the screws by hand.

Likewise, slide the front plate on the non-drive side to the end of the
slotted holes under the screws and tighten the screws by hand.

Attach the damper rod and fix in place with the lock washer.
