Honeywell A700x Voice Assisted Pallet Truck Mobile Device

Product Information

The Voice Assisted Pallet Truck is designed to enable the A700x Voice Control solution for pallet trucks. It provides VoiceArtisan APIs and parameters for controlling pallet truck movements using voice commands.

Specifications:

  • Product Name: Voice Assisted Pallet Truck
  • Software Version: Honeywell VoiceCatalyst Version 4.7.1
  • Release Date: January 10, 2024

FAQ:

  • Q: How do I configure the default travel distance for the pallet truck?
A: You can set the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance parameter in the device profile, task settings, or by the operator.

  • Q: What happens if the provided distance exceeds Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance?
A: If the distance provided in a GO command is greater than Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance, the command fails and is not sent to the pallet truck.

This document provides the features and detailed information about the VoiceArtisan APIs, parameters, and use cases required to apply and enable the A700x Voice Control solution for pallet trucks.

Voice Assisted Pallet Truck APIs

Voice assisted pallet truck APIs are located in the voice_assisted_pallet_truck module. They can be imported as follows.

NOTE This update is required for any existing tasks that need to use Voice Assisted Pallet Truck APIs.

The following APIs are for controlling the pallet truck.

Voice_assisted_pallet_truck.control_pallet_truck_processing_go(distance)
The distance for the pallet truck to move is provided to the control_pallet_truck_processing_go API as a parameter. This is the move distance in feet for the pallet truck.

Voice_assisted_pallet_truck.control_pallet_truck_processing_stop()
This API sends a STOP command to the pallet truck.

Voice_assisted_pallet_truck.control_pallet_truck_processing_horn()
This API sends a HORN command to the pallet truck.

Available Parameters

These parameters control the distance for the pallet truck movement with the distance feature. They can be configured in the device profile, the task, or by the operator.

Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance
This parameter controls the default travel distance in feet, which is the distance for an operator-requested GO command. Enter any value other than zero to set the distance to travel when the operator provides the GO command. This parameter provides the Voice Assisted Pallet Truck control word Talkman Go with the travel distance. It specifies the same distance for the Go command from the Talkman Pallet Truck Control menu.
The default is 0.

Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance
This parameter controls the maximum distance in feet the Warehouse Management System (WMS) can request in a GO command. There is no upper limit for this parameter. This parameter is used to validate each GO command before sending them to the pallet truck. If the provided distance to the GO command is greater than the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance parameter value, the command fails and is not sent.
The default is 20.

NOTE If the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance parameter value is greater than the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance parameter value, it is reset to equal the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance parameter.

Use Cases for Available Parameters

Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance and Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance are not Set

  • Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance defaults to 20.
  • Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance defaults to 0.

The pallet truck will move Go0 feet (an infinite distance) until the operator says “Talkman Stop.”

Only Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is Set

  • Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance defaults to 20.
  • The Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is determined as follows.
    • If Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance configured value is lower or equal than the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance value (which has defaulted to 20 in this use case), the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is set to the configured value.
    • If this is not the case, and the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance configured value is greater than the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance value (20 ), Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is set to the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance (so it is also 20).

NOTE The valid range for the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance in this use case is (0 – 20).

Only Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance is Set

  • Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance = the configured value
  • Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance defaults to 0

The pallet truck will move Go0 feet (an infinite distance) until the operator says “Talkman Stop.”

Both Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance and Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance are Set

  • Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance is set to the confirmed Pallet Truck Max Walk DistanceValue.
  • The Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is determined as follows.
    • If Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance configured value is lower than or equal to the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance value (which is the configured value in this use case), the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is set to the configured value.
    • If this is not the case, and the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance configured value is greater than the Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance value (the configured value), Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance is set to the configured Pallet Truck Max Walk Distance.

NOTE The valid range for the Pallet Truck Default Travel Distance in this use case is (0 – the configured Max Walk Distance Value).

Task Example

This program sends configured commands in the task to the pallet truck.

Additional Requirements

  • Voice Assisted Pallet Truck licensing is validated when the wireless headset is paired and after every reload of operator or task. If it fails, a license failure audio message is issued.
  • No timeout occurs for delays between spoken Talkman control words and the audible beep heard on the headset. As a result, for Voice Assisted Pallet Truck control words only, the Control Word Timeout parameter is not used to set a timeout number for shortening or eliminating the delay.
  • The syntax for Voice Assisted Pallet Truck control words is as follows.
    • Talkman Go
    • Talkman Stop
    • Talkman Horn

NOTE The word “pallet” is no longer part of the control word syntax. For example, “Talkman Pallet Go” is now “Talkman Go.”
