Product Usage Instructions:

Potential Issues:
The D700 includes devices that can deenergize or over excite the generator in case of problems. Ensure compliance with all recommendations to avoid issues like generator jamming due to mechanical reasons or stoppage caused by voltage fluctuations or power cuts.

Maintenance:
Nidec Leroy-Somer declines all responsibility if the recommendations are not followed. Regularly check and maintain the D700 according to the instructions provided in the manual to ensure proper functioning and safety.

FAQ:
Q: Where can I find the D700 instruction manual?
A: The D700 instruction manual is available on the Nidec LeroySomer website for download.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

For the user’s own safety, the D700 must be connected to an approved earth using the earth terminal shown above. The tooling for this connection is not included with the D700. A tightening torque of 2.5Nm +/- 0.5Nm must be applied to the screw. For UL applications, UL listed closed-loop crimped connectors shall be used.

Note: all 0V of electronic boards are connected to the earth.

For the others connectors tightening torque are:

  • Connectors 3.81mm pitch: 0.22Nm min. to 0.25Nm max.
Section of flexible conductor 0.25mm² (AWG 24) to 1.5mm² (AWG 16).

  • Connectors 5mm pitch: from 0.5Nm min. to 0.6Nm max.
Section of flexible conductor 0.25mm² (AWG 24) to 2.5mm² (AWG 12).

  • Connectors 7.62mm pitch: from 0.5Nm min. to 0.8Nm max. Section of flexible conductor 0.25mm² (AWG 24) to 6mm² (AWG 10). The tightening torque for section less or equal to 4mm² (AWG 12) shall be between 0.5Nm and 0.6Nm. For larger gauge, shall be between 0.7Nm and 0.8Nm.

For UL certified generators:

  • Copper conductors, with adapted gauge and temperature rating at least 75°C must be used.

  • Instrument transformers shall comply with basic insulation requirements defined in the Instrument Transformers standards (IEEE C57.13 series) or the equivalent.

  • Protection for the power supply circuit by Listed Class CC Fuse (25A max.) or Listed inverse time circuit breaker (20A max.).

  • Protection for the auxiliary DC supply by 1A fast acting fuse (Mersen 250FA 1A- E76491 or equivalent).
It is essential to comply with the power connection diagrams recommended in this manual.

  • The D700 includes devices which, in the event of problems, can de-energize or over excite the generator.

  • The generator itself can also become jammed for mechanical reasons. Finally, voltage fluctuations or power cuts may also cause the unit to stop. In an installation, the D700 is a device designed to be integrated into an electric cabinet or enclosed into the electrical machine, and can under no circumstances be considered to be a safety device. It is therefore the responsibility of the machine manufacturer, the designer of the installation or the user to take all necessary precautions to ensure that the system complies with current standards, and to provide any devices required to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel (especially direct contact with connectors when the AVR is running).

  • Nidec Leroy-Somer declines all responsibility in the event of the above recommendations not being observed.

  • Please refer to D700 instruction manual, available in Nidec Leroy-Somer website, to ensure installation and wiring. You must imperatively understand and and comply with the safety instructions described in it.
