Product Usage Instructions

Step Zero: Preparing the Site
Before starting assembly, ensure the sauna fits in the chosen location. The ideal space is approximately 7′ x 7′ x 7′. The site should be level and free of standing water. It is recommended to use concrete, pavers, or crushed stone as the base.

Step One: Setting Up Support Cradles

  1. Measure support cradles diagonally to ensure they are square and level.
  2. Place the support cradles on a level site, ensuring the middle support cradle is without a dowel for stability.

Step Two: Installing Center Stave and Body Staves

  1. Place the center stave on the wooden dowels of the outer support cradles and secure with screws.
  2. Attach 6 sauna body staves to each side of the center stave, aligning the panel groove on every stave.

Step Three: Attaching Panels

  1. Install the door panel in the front slot, ensuring it is centered and leveled.
  2. Attach side panels using the provided screws.
  3. Place the rear panel with bench supports facing the interior, ensuring proper alignment with other panels.

Step Four: Completing Assembly

  1. Continue placing body staves tightly on both sides, securing them with screws as specified.
  2. Install steel bands by wrapping them around the barrel and connecting them with bolts and nuts for stability.

FAQ

  • Q: Can I place combustible items near the heater?
    A: No, it is strictly advised not to place anything combustible close to the heater or on the same wall as the heater to prevent fire hazards.

  • Q: How many people can comfortably use the sauna?
    A: The Nightshade Barrel Sauna is recommended for up to 3 people.

WARNING!
Do not place anything combustible close to the heater, above the heater, or on both sides of the heater. This includes but is not limited to towels, lights, robe hooks, accessories, etc. Nothing should be on the same wall as your heater that is combustible.

Installation Instruction

STEP ZERO

  • Before you begin, be sure the sauna will fit in your chosen location.
  • Approximately L x W x H of 7’ x 7’ x 7’ is ideal. Overall dimensions are shown here.
  • Be sure the site is level and free of standing water after rainfall.
  • Concrete, pavers, or crushed stone is preferred.

STEP ONE

  • Measure support cradles (A) diagonally from corner to corner.
  • Measurements “a” and “b” should be equal to ensure the cradles are square.
  • Be sure cradles remain level.

STEP TWO

  • Place the support cradles (A) on the level site. The middle support cradle will have no dowel. Carefully level for better stability.
  • Place the center stave (B) on wooden dowels embedded in outer support cradles (A).
  • Fix the center stave (B) with a screw 4.2×70 (N).

STEP THREE

  • Place 6 sauna body staves (C) on each side of the center stave (B) and fix with screws 4.2 x 70 (N).
  • Be sure to align the panel groove on every next body stave.

STEP FOUR

  • Place the door panel (F2) in the front slot. Be sure the panel is centered, leveled, and completely seated. Attach side panels (F, F1) using 4 5.0 x 120 (M) screws and 2 4.2 x 70 (N1) stainless steel screws.
  • Place the rear panel (V) with bench supports facing the interior.
  • Confirm width of the rear panel (V) matches the combined width of the left panel section (F), front panel (F2), and right panel section (F1). These panels must be completely seated into the floor panel.

STEP FIVE
Place body staves (C) until the halfway point. Place the rear panel with window (V1) on the rear panel (V), fixed by 2 screws 5.0 x 120 (M).

STEP SIX

  • Continue placing body staves (C) tightly on both sides of the sauna using a rubber mallet, while fixing body staves on the front panel with 4.2 x 70 screws and rear window panel with 4.0 x 50 screws to prevent glass breakage.
  • To finish the rooftop joint, use the top stave (H).

WARNING!
Use a shorter screw 4.0 x 50 (P) for rear panel V1 otherwise, the window will be damaged!

STEP SEVEN

  • Install steel bands (I) by wrapping bands around the barrel before connecting them with bolts and nuts (U).
  • Place steel bands evenly around the barrel, covering screw heads.
  • Measure from steel band to barrel edge to ensure the steel band is even.
  • Cover the roof with roof tape.
  • Rub and smooth with pressure to ensure adhesion.
  • Install interior aspen roof trim (O) with 4.0 x 50 (P1) stainless steel screws.

STEP EIGHT

  • Attach the interior supporting leg (J1) to the bench (J), and install two sauna benches on wall mounts using stainless steel screws 4.2 x 70 (N1).
  • Hold the seat and leg assembly tight to the sauna wall. Using a level, make sure the bench seat is level from front to back. This will ensure proper placement.
  • Install backrests (J2) at your chosen height using stainless steel screw 4.0 x 50 (P1).

STEP NINE
Flooring duckboards (L) can be used for wiring runs, confirm specific wiring runs needed for the chosen stove.

STEP TEN

  • Place waterproof roof cover (Z) and fix it with a wooden slat (Z1) and screws 4.0 x 50 (P).
  • Install front and rear decorative roof finishing boards (W), fixing by screws 4.0 x 50 (P).
