EK-Nucleus CR Series AIO Replacement Cover Creator Kit
ABOUT
- Enclosed in the Creator Kit box is the magnetic 3D Print Light Guide – your platform for a 3D-printed creation. It also acts as a light diffuser with you choosing where the light will shine through by designing custom cutouts on your 3D print base.
- We have prepared a 3D model of the pump unit and 3D print base that you will remodel and make your own. The model consists of the pump unit housing, Creator Kit’s Light Guide, 3D print base for modification, and plastic top cover with the EK badge.
Download the STEP file linked below to start creating.

You can use the black top plastic cover with the EK badge to retain the design
language or design and 3D print a whole new top to create your own unique
aesthetic.
PREPARING THE 3D PRINT REPLACEMENT COVER
3D PRINT DESIGN WITH TOP COVER
Open the STEP file to edit the 3D Print Base inside the 3D model (colored blue
in the images below). We recommend working inside the 3D Print Base perimeter
since it won’t interfere with the plastic top cover. The height of your
creation is limited only by your PC case.
When editing, use the surface of the 3D Print Base as the maximum parameter. Work within those parameters to design your model.
- As shown in the example images below, you can make specially designed cutouts on the 3D Print Base. This way, the Light Guide will be seen through the customized shapes.
- You can also find finished 3D models on different 3D modeling websites and merge the chosen 3D model with the 3D Print Base model for editing. Work within the previously mentioned parameters and cut all excess material that doesn’t fit.
Play around with different shapes that work for your 3D creation. When satisfied with the final result, merge your edited model with the 3D Print Base and export it as an STL file for any existing 3D printing program.
3D PRINT DESIGN WITHOUT TOP COVER
Remove the top cover and the 3D Print Base from the model to design freely
without the plastic top cover. The Creator Kit’s Light Guide is now your base
for 3D modeling and printing.
- We recommend making 2mm holes on your 3D-printed piece that fit the existing holes on your Creator Kit’s Light Guide.
- Your design can also consist of two or more 3D-printed parts. As shown in the example images below, you can create a more complex design by combining a few 3D prints on the Light Guide base.
Create your model by sticking to your set parameters and ensuring the 3D print matches the base.
INSTALLING THE 3D PRINT REPLACEMENT COVER
STEP 1 Remove the magnetic top cover from your EK Nucleus AIO unit.
STEP 2
Place the magnetic top cover face-down on a clean surface that won’t damage it
during disassembly. Remove four (4) screws marked in the image. Remove the
original light guide plastic and the PCB part and store them someplace safe –
you won’t need them with your new 3D creation. The four (4) screws will be
used again for your 3D-print assembly, together with the plastic top cover if
your design includes it.
3D PRINT DESIGN WITH TOP COVER
After successfully printing your 3D creation, carefully place it inside the
plastic top cover. Then, add the Creator Kit’s Light Guide to fit the top
cover’s screw holes, making sure your 3D piece leaves the badge cutout open.
Gently tighten the screws to hold the assembly together.
Do not use excessive force to tighten the screws.
Once you have successfully assembled your new top cover, place it on your EK Nucleus AIO unit.
3D PRINT DESIGN WITHOUT TOP COVER
After successfully printing your 3D creation, position the Light Guide to fit
the holes you made in the previous steps and join all the parts. Gently
tighten the screws to hold the assembly together.
Do not use excessive force to tighten the screws.
Once you have successfully assembled your new top cover, place it on your EK Nucleus AIO unit.
