USER MANUAL – HONEYWELL AIR COMFORT APP
Thank you for purchasing a Honeywell Smart Portable Dehumidifier. This user manual is intended to provide you with important information needed to set up, operate, maintain and troubleshoot this product.

Downloading the App:
The Smart Portable Dehumidifier can be operated remotely using a smart device and voice commands through Amazon Echo or Google Assistant by setting up the Honeywell Air Comfort App. Ensure you have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for proper connection. Set up the Honeywell Air Comfort App on your smartphone or tablet to connect the Honeywell Smart Portable Dehumidifier for WiFi and Voice control.

IMPORTANT: A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required for proper connection and operation between the Dehumidifier and the App.

  • iOS Compatibility: 8.0 or later
  • Android Compatibility: 4.3 or late

Registering an Account

  1. 1. Open the app.
  2. Tap Register
    1. Enter your email* .
  3. Tap Get Verification Code.
    1. Enter the verification code.
  4. The verification code should be received & entered within 60 seconds. If time is exceeded, go back and get another code.
    1. Set the password.
  5. Tap Done.
    1. Tap Create Family.
  6. Set the Family Name and Family Location.
    1. Mark the location of the dehumidifier.
  7. Tap Done.
  • The user will receive a verification email from “system.az@notice.2.ismartlife.me” with contact name “Honeywell Air Comfort” and subject title “Registration Verification Code”. If email is not received in your inbox, check your junk or spam folders. If you didn’t receive a verification email after 60 seconds, click the resend button.

Connection Methods for Wi-Fi Setup
The Smart Portble Dehumidifier has two different setup modes:

  • CF (Quick Connection): The CF mode is a quick and simple way to set the unit up.
  • AP (Access Point): The AP mode uses a direct local Wi-Fi connection between your phone and the dehumidifier to upload the network details. Before starting the setup, please ensure that your Smart Portable Dehumidifier is plugged in and turned OFF (in Standby Mode) for the connection type you are attempting. The display on the Dehumidifier will confirm the current connection mode during setup.

Connecting in CF Mode:

  1. Tap Add Device and select Dehum icon.
  2. Switch on the dehumidifier, press the button on the unit, and follow on-screen instructions.
  3. Tap Add Device.
  4. Tap Dehum icon.
    1. Switch on the dehumidifier.
  5. On the Dehumidifier, Press the button 6 times until it displays on the unit.
  6. Tap Next.
    1. Choose the Wi-Fi network.
  7. Enter the Wi-Fi password.
  8. Tap Confirm.
    1. Wait until the connection is completed.
    1. Tap Done.

Connecting in AP Mode:

  1. Tap Add Device and select Dehum icon.
  2. Tap Add Device.
  3. Switch on the dehumidifier, press the button on the unit, and follow on-screen instructions.
  4. Tap Dehum icon.
  5. Connect to the Smartlife-XXXX network and return to the Honeywell Air Comfort App.
  6. Tap AP Mode in the top right corner.
    1. Switch on the dehumidifier.
  7. On the Dehumidifier, press the button 6 times until displays on the unit.
  8. Tap Next.
    1. Choose the Wi-Fi network.
  9. Enter the Wi-Fi password.
  10. Tap Confirm.
    1. Tap Go to Connect.
    1. Tap the Smartlife-XXXX network (Wi-Fi board number).
  11. Once connected, press the home/back button on your device and go back to the Honeywell Air Comfort App.
    1. Wait until the connection is completed.
    1. Tap Done.

FAMILY SETTINGS

BASIC CONTROLS

  1. 1. Tap Dehumidifier.
    1. Tap to switch the dehumidifier on/off.

Device settings:

  • Device Name
  • Device Location
  • Check Device Network
  • Third-party Control (Voice Activated Control)
  • Share Device
  • Create Group
  • Device Information
  • Feedback
  • Add to Home Screen
  • Check for Firmware Upgrade
  • Remove Device
  • Restore to Factory Defaults

SETTING THE FAN SPEED

  • Tap fan speed button.
  • Select Low or High fan speed.

SETTING THE TIMER

  • Tap Timer set button.
  • Tap Add Timer.
  • Set the timer(s).
  • When the timer is set, tap Save.

ADDING A SCENARIO
The Scenario feature allows you to set up multiple Dehumidifiers under one Scenario and control them on one dashboard as needed. When you click on the Scenario, all Dehumidifiers will switch ON at the same time using previous settings.

E. g.: If you had set up a Dehumidifier in the Living Room and one in the Basement, you can create a “Scenario 1” to switch both dehumidifiers on at the same time.

  1. 1. Tap Smart control button.
  2. Tap Add Scenario.
    1. Tap Edit Name to set the name of the scenario.
  3. Tap the background to set the background image of the scenario.
  4. Tap Add Action to add action of the scenario.
    1. Select the Enable or Disable Automation. Tap .
  5. Select the Time-Lapse of the action. Tap .
  6. Select the Device and the action (on/off). Tap .
  7. Tap Switch. Select the action for the device to perform (on/off).
  8. Tap Save and then Next.
  9. Tap Save.

ADDING AN AUTOMATION SCENARIO
The Automation Scenario feature allows you to set up multiple dehumidifiers under one Scenario and it will automatically activate those dehumidifiers when there is a change in outdoor environment conditions.

Pre-Set Outdoor Humidity Conditions:

  • Dry: 0-40%RH
  • Comfortable: 40-70%RH
  • Moist: above 70%RH

When a change in outdoor condition is met, the pre-set Automation Scenario will switch ON or OFF all Dehumidifiers set up in that Automation Scenario.

E.g.: If you had set up a Dehumidifier in the Living Room and one in the Basement, you can create an “Automation Scenario 1” to switch both dehumidifiers on at the same time when outdoor humidity changes from “Comfortable” to “Moist”. When the outdoor humidity changes to “Moist” level , the dehumidifiers will automatically switch ON using previous settings. The Dehumidifiers will continue running until internal room humidity reaches previous desired humidity settings.

IMPORTANT: If environment conditions remain constant, for example, it stays “moist”, The dehumidifier will not activate automatically unless it senses a change in the pre-set humidity conditions from “Dry” to “Comfortable” or “Comfortable” to “Moist”.

  1. 1. Tap Smart control button.
  2. Tap Automation.
  3. Tap Add Automation Scenario.
    1. Tap Edit Name to set the name of the automation scenario.
  4. Tap the background to set the background image of the automation scenario.
  5. Tap Add Condition to add the condition of the automation scenario activation.
    1. Tap Device.
  6. Tap Dehumidifier.
    1. Select function(s) for the dehumidifier to perform, when the automation scenario condition(s) is/are met.
  7. Tap Next.
    1. Tap Add Action to set the action to be performed when the automation scenario condition(s) is/are met.
  8. Tap Next.
    1. Tap Effective Period to select when the automation scenario should activate.
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Tap Save.

CONNECTING TO AN AMAZON ECHO DEVICE

NOTE: Ensure your Amazon Echo device is switched on and connected to the Wi-Fi network.

  • Open the “Amazon Alexa” app on your smart device.
  • Tap and then Skills & Games.
  • Tap and type “Honeywell Air Comfort”. Tap the Honeywell Air Comfort skill.
  • Tap Enable To Use button.
  • Enter your Honeywell Air Comfort App login and password.
  • Tap Link Now and then tap Authorize.
  • Tap Done.
  • Tap Discover Device. Choose “Dehumidifier”.
  • Tap Set Up Device Choose a group for the device or tap Skip.
  • Choose “Dehumidifier”.
  • Tap Done.

CONNECTING TO GOOGLE ASSISTANT

NOTE: Ensure your Google Home device is switched on and connected to the Wi-Fi network.

  • Open the “Google Home” app on your smart device.
  • Tap on the top left. Tap Set up device.
  • Tap Have something already set up?
  • Tap and type “Honeywell Air Comfort”. Tap Honeywell Air Comfort.
  • Enter your Honeywell Air Comfort App login and password.
  • Tap Link Now and then tap Authorize.
  • To add the dehumidifier, tap the Dehumidifier and then tap Add to a room. Or tap the X on the top left to skip.
  • Choose a room for the device, tap Next and then DONE.

SMART COMMAND WITH ALEXA / GOOGLE ASSISTANT

  • Switching On/Off:
    • Say: “Alexa/ Hey Google, turn on/off “device name”.
  • Setting the Speed:
    • Say: “Alexa, set speed to XX percent.”
    • (Low speed: XX = 0 to 50; High speed: XX = 51 to 99)
    • Say: “Hey Google, set fan speed to Low or High.”
  • Setting the Target Humidity Level:
    • Say: “Alexa/ Hey Google, set “device name” to XX percent.”
  • Humidity Conditions:
    • Dry: 0-40%RH
    • Comfortable: 40-70%RH
    • Moist: above 70%RH

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible Cause Solution

Unable to register/login to an account.

| Mobile smart device’s Wi-Fi is switched off.| Switch on the mobile phone’s Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi signal is too weak.

| Install a Wi-Fi extender (not included).
Move the smart dehumidifier closer to the Wi-Fi router.

Dehumidifier cannot pair with the Honeywell Air Comfort App.

| Dehumidifier is not connected to the electrical outlet.| Connect the dehumidifier to the socket-outlet.

Wi-Fi signal is too weak.

| Install a Wi-Fi extender (not included).
Move the smart dehumidifier closer to the Wi-Fi router.
The default pairing mode does not work.| Pair the dehumidifier in AP mode (see section on “Connecting in AP Mode”)
Wi-Fi connection frequency is incorrect.| Select a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
Wi-Fi password is incorrect.| Use a correct Wi-Fi password.
Wi-Fi network is invisible.| Set the Wi-Fi network to visible.

Wi-Fi name uses foreign characters.

| Set the Wi-Fi name to use alphanumerical characters and numbers only.

The encryption method of the router’s wireless setting is wrong.

| Set the encryption method of the router’s wireless setting to “WPA2-PSK” and the authentication type to “AES”, or both are set as automatic.

Note : “802.11n only” is not allowed in wireless mode.
