The transmitter works with all ERA series of receivers. At the time of this
user manual, this is the ERA-DCRX, ERA-RXPG, and the ERA-VPRX. Each receiver
has a slightly different way to put it into “programming mode.” Once the
receiver is in programming mode, the receiver’s manual will instruct you to
“trigger the transmitter,” which is outlined in step #4 below. Once the
transmitter is successfully programmed to the receiver, follow the receiver’s
manual to change the melody, program an additional transmitter to the
receiver, or exit programming mode.
- Ensure the battery is installed in the ERA-UTX transmitter.
- Ensure the receiver you are programming the transmitter to is powered up and working correctly.
- Put the receiver in programming mode.
- Trigger the ERA-UTX by pressing the center gray button. The red LED under the gray center should light for approximately 2 seconds.
- The receiver will respond to notify you this transmitter has been successfully programmed. Consult the specific receiver’s manual.
- Follow the receiver’s instruction manual to end programming or to program an additional transmitter
Mounting the Transmitter
- The transmitter can be mounted to any wall using the mounting bracket.
- The mounting bracket is located on the back of the ERA-UTX and can be removed by simply sliding it off.
- Position the bracket where you want to mount it. Use a drill and two included screws to mount the transmitter. Ensure the arrow on the mounting bracket is facing up. (figure 3)
- If mounting the ERA-UTX outdoors it is recommended to place the silicon plugs back into the screw well.
- Slide the transmitter onto the mounting bracket. (figure 4)

- Mount the push button on the door jam with the screws provided or double-sided tape..
- Mount the magnet on the door (within ½” of the push button) with the screws provided.
- After mounting the magnet on the door snap the cover on the magnet case.
- The magnetic contact can be used on either side of the push button. (Figure 3)
Connecting an Exterior Detector:
The ERA-UT X can be activated by any type of detector that provides a normally open (N/O) or normally closed (N/C) output.
- Locate the terminals at the bottom of the case. (Figure 7)
- Insert the wires through the silicone gasket and make the connection on the terminals.
- For a normally closed (N/C) connection, connect the wires to· the NC and Common (center) terminals.
- For a normally open (N/O) connection, connect the wires between the NO and Common (center) terminals
Using Multiple Detectors
- If multiple normally closed (N/C) contacts are to be used, they should be run in series to the N/C contacts.
- If multiple normally open (N/O) contacts are used, they should be run in parallel to the N/O contacts.
- Note: Both N/O and N/C contacts can be used simultaneously along with the magnetic contact and push button.
