Indicator Light: shows the status of the device.
Top Sensor: detects water drops.
Buzzer: emits alarm sound.
Test/Mute Button: used for pairing, testing and muting the alarm sound.
Bottom Sensor: detects water leaks.
Sensor Probe: used for triggering water leaks or dry alerts.
Battery: AAA Battery X 2

Preparation

You will need:

A smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth 4.2 or later.
The latest version of our app, downloadable via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
A SwitchBot account, you can register via our app or sign in to your account directly if you already have one.

Safety Information

Keep the device away from humid or hot environments, water and fire sources.
This product is a precision electronic product. Please avoid applying physical damage.
Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device.
Do not use the device where wireless devices are not allowed.

Installation

Step 1: Install the batteries

(1) Insert the batteries into the battery slot, ensuring they are in the right direction.
(2) Align and close the battery cover.
(3) Press the Test button. If the buzzer beeps and the indicator light flashes twice, it means the water detector is in normal working condition.

Step 2: Add to the SwitchBot app

Open our app, tap the “+” in the top right-hand corner of the home page, select Add device, find the relevant device icon and select. Then follow the instructions to add your device.

Our app is regularly updated. Follow the in-app instructions to add your device.
Registering an account or adding a device will not compromise your privacy, data is only for ensuring normal use of your devices.

Step 3: Position the water detector

(1) Place the water detector where water level monitoring is needed, ensuring the sensor probe can sufficiently contact the water leak location.
(2) Determine the best position of the probe, and submerge the probe and cable together in the water, just below the acceptable water level. An alarm will sound when the water level drops below the acceptable level.

Step 4: Water leak/drip detection

1. Water Leak Detection Mode
When the water detector detects a leak at any contact point, it will continuously sound an alarm to alert you and our app will send a water leak notification.

2. Water Level Detection Mode
(1) When the sensor probe does not detect water, the device will sound an alarm to alert you and our app will send a water leak notification (dry alarm)

Please note: Water movement can affect the probe sensor’s status.

When the water detector detects a leak, it will continuously sound an alarm to alert you and our app will send a water leak notification.

(2) When the sensor probe detects water, the device will sound an alarm and our app will send a water leak notification.

Please note: If the device does not dehydrate after the continuous alarm time, the water detector will continue to alarm. It will alarm every 5 minutes until dehydration. The interval can be changed in the app settings.

Step 5: Muting the alarm

When the device triggers a water leak alarm, you can mute the device for 5 minutes by pressing the Mute button. If a leak is still detected after 5 minutes, the alarm will continue.

Step 6: Removing the alarm

Remove the device from the water and dry the surface. The device will no longer alarm and the app will push a notification of alarm removal.

Battery Replacement

When the device’s battery is low, our app will send a low battery notification. You need to replace the batteries:

Use a tool to open the battery cover on the back (the waterproof design requires the battery cover to be tightly closed to prevent water from entering the device).
Remove the used batteries and replace them with the same type (2 AM batteries).
After closing the cover tightly, press the Test button. If the device sounds an alarm and receives an app notification about testing, it is in normal working condition.

Resetting Factory Setting

Press and hold the Test/Mute button for 15 seconds, then release it. All indicator lights will stay on for 2 seconds and the buzzer will sound for 2 seconds, which means your device has been reset to its default factory settings.
