Tools Required
- T-20 Torx
- Digital Multimeter
- 10mm Socket
- Trim removal tool
- 4mm Allen wrench
- Scissors
Installation
To begin, make sure the vehicle is in park, on level ground, and the parking brake is engaged.
- Using a trim removal tool, remove the plastic fog light bezel starting from the center of the vehicle. Make sure to not pry along the outer edge. Tabs are marked with arrows. (Passenger side shown)
- Using a T-20 Torx bit, remove the single fastener securing the light to the vehicle and carefully remove the light. Keep hardware as it will be reused.
- Push on the release tabs on the OEM fog light connector. Carefully unplug the light from the harness. Probe the OEM plug to identify ground and power using a digital multimeter. Identify these by color.
- On the harness adapter, trace which lead will go to OEM positive and OEM negative. Plug in the negative wire to the “A” port of the included weather-pak clamshell. Plug the positive pinned wire into the “B” port of the clamshell. Close the latch on the weather-pack connector.
- Install the larger metal bracket to the plastic shroud at the longer mounting tab on the shroud. Use a 10mm socket and a 4mm Hex key to install the M6 Button head along with a nut and washer. Leave it loose for now.
- Install the smaller metal bracket onto the shorter mounting point on the shroud. Use a 10mm socket and 4mm Hex key to install an M6 Buttonhead, washer, and nut. Leave it loose for now.
- Install the bolt such that the head is towards the inside of the shroud
- Align the metal brackets to make sure they are straight as shown in the figure provided (A). Tighten the brackets.
- Careful to not overtighten as the shroud can be damaged
- Install the Squadron to both metal bracket’s lower holes. Use a 4mm Hex key to install a small M6 Button head (B1) and a long M6 Button head. The longer M6 button-head (B2) will require the use of the spacer provided and will go onto the larger metal bracket. Adjust the light until it is straight and tighten the bolts.
- Take the provided EPDM strip and cut a 5/8” X 0.5” strip from it. Then cut that piece in half. Install these onto the two flanges protruding from the larger metal bracket (C).
- Connect your adapter to the OEM plug and then connect your light to the adapter. Tuck your harness into the cavity.
- Test your light functionality.
- Install your light in the fog light opening by holding the light assembly as far away from the inside of the vehicle until the two prongs on the metal bracket clear the mounts. Insert the prongs into the two slots (D) and re-install the screw (From Step 2) into the mounting hole (E) using a T20 driver.
- Re-install the trim panel removed in step 1 and make sure the plastic tab (F) is correctly installed. Make sure all 4 clips are engaged.
- Repeat Steps 1-13 for the opposite side of the vehicle.
If you want to disable the corner-illumination fog light feature, you can:
- Turn off the automatic headlights and use the manual mode, or
- Contact your local dealership to assist in disabling the feature.
- Tie all wires away from sharp, hot, and/or rotating components.
- Re-torque all the fasteners after 100 miles.
- Your installation is now complete! Thank you for choosing Baja Designs.
