Product Usage Instructions

Inserting iPhone

  1. Unscrew the case with an Allen wrench (included) in a counter-clockwise direction.
  2. Place the iPhone inside the case.
  3. Connect the charging cable to the case and verify charging before reassembly.
  4. Screw the top case down in a clockwise direction, ensuring not to over-tighten.
  5. Fully charge the barcode reader using a USB-C wall charger until the battery light turns solid green (up to 8 hours).

Setting up Barcode Reader

  1. Download the Socket Mobile Companion app to set up your barcode reader.
  2. Register your reader and complete a user survey via the app for a 90-day warranty extension.
  3. If unable to install the app, pair your barcode reader directly to the host device by following the steps provided.

Inserting Scanner

  1. Unscrew the case cover with the included Allen wrench in a counter-clockwise direction and remove it.
  2. Slide the scanner with cover onto the charging pins of the XtremeScan case.
  3. Slide the scanner into the cover until it snaps securely.
  4. Tighten the screw for the scanner cover with the Allen wrench.

Q: How can I extend my warranty coverage?

A: You can add SocketCare extended warranty coverage within 60 days of purchasing the barcode reader. The product warranty is one year from the date of purchase, with consumables like batteries and charging cables having a limited warranty of 90 days. SocketCare allows you to extend your standard one-year limited warranty up to five years from the purchase date.

    • Important: Do not charge Socket Mobile data readers in temperatures above 100°F/40°C, as the reader may not charge properly.
    • Charging from a computer or laptop USB port will not provide enough power and could cause charging, connection, or scanning performance issues.
  6. Step 6: Download the Socket Mobile Companion app to set up your barcode reader.
    • Scan the QR Code with your device to download the Companion app for free.
  7. Step 7: Register your reader and complete a user survey via the Socket Mobile Companion app to activate a 90-day warranty extension.
    • If the Companion app cannot be installed, pair your barcode reader directly to the host device.
    • The steps below assume this is a first-time pairing set-up.
    • On the host device – turn off Bluetooth.
    • Power on the barcode reader.
    • Select and scan a Bluetooth connection mode barcode (see the following page).
    • On the host device – turn Bluetooth back on and pair the barcode reader.
    • Launch the desired application.
