FAQ
Q: What should I do if the valve is not opening?
A: Check the solenoid connection and ensure it is energized.
Verify that all parts are properly reassembled according to the instructions
provided.
Q: How do I know if I need to replace the o-ring?
A: Inspect the o-ring for any signs of wear, cracking, or damage. If in doubt, it is recommended to replace it as part of regular maintenance.
Introduction
- The 116950 e-ChemSaver® ES Valve is a solenoid-actuated shutoff compatible with a wide range of TeeJet® nozzle bodies equipped with a diaphragm check valve. It can be used for end-of-boom nozzles as well as individual tip shutoff control.
- The valve is normally closed and opens when the solenoid is energized. The 116950 has a 2-Pin Superseal 1.5 connector molded into the body for a clean, weather-tight electrical connection.
- Application Note(s): Rinse the system with clean water after each application. 80 mesh strainer screen or finer is recommended with all e-ChemSaver® ES Valve applications.
General Disassembly and Reassembly
-
Unscrew the valve assembly from the nozzle body by rotating the interface cap/locking ring (Item counterclockwise until the assembly separates.
-
Remove the FKM gasket (1).
-
Loosen and remove the nylon interface cap/locking ring (2) from the coil assembly (3-7) by compressing the interface cap/locking ring against the coil assembly and turning counterclockwise until separated.
- All repairable parts should be accessible at this point. The installation spring (3), plunger sub-assembly (4), stainless steel spring (5), and o-ring (6) can be replaced without further disassembly.
-
During reassembly, please ensure that the o-ring (6) is pressed down to the outside base of the threads on the coil assembly(7/7A) to avoid damaging the o-ring when reassembling.
- Then, place the stainless steel spring (5), and plunger sub-assembly (4) in the coil assembly (717A).
- Note: The conical-shaped stainless steel spring (5) should be oriented with the wider end resting in the groove of the coil assembly (7/7A) and the narrower end facing outward (visible).
- Then, place the plunger sub-assembly (4) with the black insert facing outward (visible) and insert it into the narrower end of the spring (5) when placed in the coil assembly (717A).
- Then place the installation spring (3) onto the base of the coil assembly so that the three tabs lay flat on the base of the coil assembly.
-
Tighten the nylon interface cap/locking ring (2) from the coil assembly (3-7) by compressing the interface cap/locking ring against the coil assembly and turning clockwise until tight.
- Then place gasket (1) into interface cap and locking ring sub-assembly.
Torque Specifications: Tighten interface cap/locking ring (2) & coil assembly (3-7) to 12 in-lbs (1.36 N-m)
- Then place gasket (1) into interface cap and locking ring sub-assembly.
-
Recommended : At the time of installation, spray a sufficient quantity of corrosion prevention (CorrosionX® CorrosionX® Heavy Duty, or CorrosionX® Aviation) compound into the connector to wet the terminals before plugging the connector in.
