Product Usage Instructions
T-Slot Configuration
- Trim rubber pad at indents. Apply an adhesive-backed rubber pad to the bottom of each Angle Adjust Bracket.
Clamp Configuration
- Apply an adhesive-backed rubber pad to each clamping plate.
- Attach one Angle Adjust Bracket to each crossbar using two T-slot square nuts and two M8x14mm bolts. Place at even positions on the bars.
- Tool Required: 6 mm Hex wrench
- Attach one clamping plate to each Angle Adjust Bracket using two flat head bolts and 2 nylon lock nuts.
- Tools Required: 13 mm Crescent or socket wrench, 5 mm Hex wrench
- Using an additional clamping plate, 4 carriage bolts, and 4 nylon lock nuts, clamp the Angle Adjust Bracket to the crossbar. Repeat for the other crossbar.
- Tool Required: 13 mm Crescent or Socket Wrench

- Pre-thread one M8x45mm bolt with lock washer into the top hole of each Angle Adjust Bracket.
- Measure spacing between angle adjust brackets.

- Slip the T-slot nuts (with the Awning Mounting Bracket in tow) into the T-slots located on the back of the Crosswing Awning using the cutaways at each end.

Talon Mount Kit
T-Slot Configuration
- Trim rubber pad at indents. Apply an adhesive-backed rubber pad to the bottom of each Angle Adjust Bracket.
- Attach one Angle Adjust Bracket to each crossbar using two T-slot square nuts and two M8x14mm bolts. Place at even positions on the bars.
- TOOL: 6 mm Hex wrench

- Mounting Bracket onto the bolts of the Angle Adjust Brackets, and let the Crosswing pivot down until it rests against the Angle Adjust Bracket. The Crossing will hang safely.
- Insert one M8x45mm bolt into the bottom hole of each Angle Adjust Bracket with the Crosswing lined up at the desired angle. Tighten both bolts on each Angle Adjust Bracket.
- If the Crosswing is not at the desired position, slightly loosen the four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets, then slide the Crosswing into the desired position along the length of the vehicle.
- Tighten all four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets.
- Check that all fasteners are securely tightened.

Vertical Brackets

- Attach one clamping plate to each Angle Adjust Bracket using two flat head bolts and 2 nylon lock nuts.

- Using an additional clamping plate, 4 carriage bolts, and 4 nylon lock nuts, clamp the Angle Adjust Bracket to the crossbar. Repeat for the other crossbar.

- Measure the spacing between vertical brackets.
- Pre-thread two T-slot nuts onto each Awning Mounting Bracket using two M8x14mm bolts, do not tighten.
- Slip the T-slot nuts (with the Awning Mounting Bracket in tow) into the T-slots located on the back of the Crosswing Awning using the cutaways at each end.

T-Slot Mount Configuration
- Trim rubber pad at indents. Apply an adhesive-backed rubber pad to the bottom of each Angle Adjust Bracket.
- Use the M8x14mm awning mounting bolts and a set of t-slot square nuts from the stock kit to secure each bracket to the vertical surface.
- NOTE: Ensure the nuts are securely tightened.
- Insert a pivot clamping bolt into the top hole of each bracket. Use an allen wrench to tighten.
- Pre-thread two T-slot nuts onto each Awning Mounting Bracket using two M8x14mm bolts. Do not tighten.
- Slip the T-slot nuts (with the Awning Mounting Bracket in tow) into the T-slots located on the back of the Crosswing Awning using the cutaways at each end.
- Position the Awning Mounting Brackets to align with the spacing of the Vertical Brackets. Tighten fasteners lightly.
- TOOL: 6 mm Hex wrench
- With the help of an additional person, lift the Crosswing to the vehicle. Align the Awning Mounting Brackets with the Vertical Brackets, and slot the hook of each Awning.
- Mounting Bracket onto the bolts of the Vertical Brackets, and let the Crosswing pivot down until it rests against the Vertical Bracket. The Crosswing will hang safely.
- Insert one M8x45mm into the bottom hole of each Vertical Bracket with the Crosswing lined up at the desired angle. Tighten both bolts on each bracket.
- If the Crosswing is not at the desired position, slightly loosen the four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets, then slide the Crosswing into the desired position along the length of the vehicle.
- Tighten all four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets. Check that all fasteners are securely tightened.
Want to mount it directly to a wall or surface?
Additional hardware may be required for mounting directly onto a vertical surface. Be ensure your mounting solution will properly support the weight of the awning.
Basket Mount Kit
Clamp Mount Configuration
- Adhere the foam pads to the inside surface of the “J” brackets if not already applied. Position the 2 “J” brackets and vertical brackets as shown, with the taller of the two “J” brackets sandwiched between the slotted J bracket and vertical bracket.
- Loosely secure the” J” brackets to the vertical bracket with 2 flush head bolts and nylock nuts.
- NOTE: The slightly longer flat head bolt should be used to secure the lower, slotted “J” bracket to the assembly.
- Hook both bracket assemblies over and around your roof rack bars. Slide the mount assemblies into your desired position.
- Use the long carriage bolts and the small nylock nuts to tighten the mount assemblies to your roof rack. Be sure to tighten evenly and securely to ensure the mounts are properly attached.
- Tighten the remaining flush head bolts to secure the vertical bracket in place.
- Insert a pivot clamping bolt into the top hole of each vertical bracket. Use an allen wrench to tighten.
- Pre-thread two T-slot nuts onto each Awning Mounting Bracket using two M8x14mm bolts, do not tighten.
- Slip the T-slot nuts (with the Awning Mounting Bracket in tow) into the T-slots located on the back of the Crosswing Awning using the cutaways at each end.
- Position the Awning Mounting Brackets to align with the spacing of the Basket Mount Brackets. Tighten fasteners lightly.
- With the help of an additional person, lift the Crosswing up to the vehicle. Align the Awning Mounting Brackets with the Basket Mount Brackets, slot the hook of each Awning
- Mounting Bracket onto the bolts of the Basket Mount Brackets, and let the Crosswing pivot down until it rests against the Bracket.
- Insert one M8x45mm bolt into the bottom hole of each Basket Mount Bracket with the Crosswing lined up at the desired angle. Tighten both M8x45mm bolts on each Bracket.
- If the Crosswing is not at the desired position, slightly loosen the four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets, then slide the Crosswing into the desired position along the length of the vehicle.
- Tighten all four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets.
- Check that all fasteners are securely tightened.
Side Mount Kit
T-Slot Configuration
- Determine the desired mount placement on your roof rack, then trim the rubber pad at indents. Apply an adhesive-backed rubber pad to the bottom of each Angle Adjust Bracket.
- Attach one Angle Adjust Bracket to each crossbar using two T-slot square nuts and two M8x14mm bolts. Place at even positions on the bars.
- TOOL: 6 mm Hex wrench
Clamp Configuration
- Apply an adhesive-backed rubber pad to each clamping plate.
- A) Determine the desired placement of the clamping plates concerning your desired placement on the roof rack. This will be rack-specific and will largely be dictated by the amount of clearance and the size/placement of your roof racks mounting hardware.
- TOOL: 13 mm Crescent or Socket Wrench
- B) Using the clamp plates from your stock mounting kit (included in the purchase of every Crosswing) attach one clamping plate to each Angle Adjust Bracket using two flat head bolts and 2 nylon lock nuts.
- TOOLS: 13 mm Crescent or socket wrench. 5 mm Hex wrench
- Using an additional clamping plate, 4 carriage bolts, and 4 nylon lock nuts, clamp the Angle Adjust Bracket to the crossbar. Repeat for the other crossbar.
- TOOL: 13 mm Crescent or Socket Wrench
- Pre-thread two T-slot nuts onto each Awning Mounting Bracket using two M8x14mm bolts, do not tighten yet.
- NOTE: The Side Mount Kit has 3 potential height adjustment positions on the front of the Awning Mount Bracket and 2 potential positions on the side of the Awning Mount Bracket. Make sure your desired height is matched for each bracket.
- Pre-thread one M8x45mm bolt into one of the rear positions of each Awning Mounting Bracket. Make sure the bolt placement is consistent for each bracket.
- Slip the T-slot nuts (with the Awning Mounting Bracket in tow) into the T-slots located on the back of the Crosswing Awning using the cutaways at each end.
- Measure spacing between angle adjust brackets.
- Position the Awning Mounting Brackets to align with the spacing of the Angle Adjust Brackets. Tighten fasteners lightly.
- TOOL: 6 mm Hex wrench
- With the help of an additional person, lift the Crosswing to the vehicle. Align the Awning Mounting Brackets with the Angle Adjust Brackets, and slot the hook of each.
- Angle Adjust Bracket onto the bolts of the Awning Mount Brackets, and let the Crosswing pivot down until it rests against the Angle Adjust Bracket. The Crosswing will hang safely.
- Insert one M8x45mm bolt into the bottom hole of each Awning Mount Bracket with the Crosswing lined up at the desired angle. Tighten both bolts on each Angle Adjust Bracket.
- If the Crosswing is not at the desired position, slightly loosen the four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets, then slide the Crosswing into the desired position along the length of the vehicle.
- Tighten all four M8x14mm bolts holding the Crosswing to the Awning Mounting Brackets.
