Before using the MBT-001 Bluetooth ESC Programmer, ensure your Maclan Racing
ESC is updated with the latest firmware patch via the Windows PC version of
Maclan Smart Link.
Introduction
The Maclan Racing MBT-001 Bluetooth ESC Programmer facilitates seamless wireless data transmission between Maclan Racing ESCs and mobile devices running Android OS 5.0 or later, and iOS 12 or later. Utilizing the Maclan Racing Smart Link App, users can effortlessly program ESC settings, update ESC firmware, and access data logs.

Pair MBT-001 Bluetooth ESC Programmer to ESC and App
- Ensure your Maclan ESC has the latest FIRMWARE PATCH update using the Windows version of the Maclan Smart Link App (not the mobile version). Download the patch software from Maclan-Racing.com/software.
- Connect the MBT-001 Bluetooth ESC Programmer to the Maclan ESC via the USB port, and power on the ESC using battery power.
- Verify that your Smart Link app on your mobile device is the latest version. The simplest method is to uninstall and reinstall the app from the App Store.
- Activate the Bluetooth function on your Android or iOS mobile devices.
- Open the Smart Link App on your mobile device and follow the on-screen prompts located within the “Connection” section of the Smart Link App.
How to Reset the MBT-001 Bluetooth ESC Programmer
In an event that requires a reset of the MBT-001 Bluetooth ESC programmer, (e.g., when changing to a new phone or tablet), use a pin to press and hold the “Reset” button for 3 seconds until the Bluetooth LED dims, indicating a successful reset. For connection issues, navigate to your mobile device’s Settings/Bluetooth section to disconnect (Forget) the MBT001-XXXX connection to reset the App connection.
Status LED Indicator
The “Bluetooth” LED provides insight into the current status of the MBT-001:
- Black: No connection.
- Solid Blue: Connection established with mobile device.
- Flashing Blue: Transmitting data.
