Frequently Asked Questions
Has anyone used a Lenovo x1 carbon 6th generation and verified that it works with it?****
I couldn’t be happier to be utilizing this on a brand-new 6th generation X1 Carbon. I published a lengthy review here that I authored. I have 3 older (not 4K) displays connected, and I’m using a Plugable USB to DVI adaptor to connect a fourth monitor. Almost all of my ports are in use. Since I usually leave my laptop plugged in and on, the dock and laptop have been operating almost continuously for the past month.
Can I use the two DisplayPort ports to connect two 4K monitors at 60 Hz?****
I’ve got two dual display ports linked to two 2K monitors. According to what I understand, the USB-C/Thunderbolt firmware and chipsets may also play a role; some support two video channels per port, while others only support one. If you use Windows, you might want to read the online owners manual since some PCs are identified as being incompatible.
Will this combine all of my cords into a single USB port? It features wires for the sound system, two USB ports, and electricity?****
I don’t recall the sound system, but it should take care of everything else. I now steer clear of USB-C laptops at all costs. The docking port’s perpetual inability to meet my power requirements and early burnout is the drawback.
Does this work on both PCs (thinkpad, HP) and Macs?****
Yes
If I have the proper combination of cords, can I connect my Dell XPS 13 9370 to three monitors? cannot locate the compatibility pdf mentioned on the product website.****
I would anticipate everything working because your laptop has thunderbolt and USB C ports that support power delivery and displayport.
Does it fit a functional Dell XPS 9570 with two screens?****
You may find the answer to this query on the PLUGABLE website, and they offer the best customer service.
Does this work with Mac OS? any surprises? attempting to configure a mac for two external screens****
I don’t know because I’ve never used a Mac.
Would the HP Probook work with this dock?****
Yes, I use it with my HP Pro Book business laptop if it has a USB C port.
Does it function with a 2018 HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl0xx? I require it to power two 4K monitors and charge my laptop.****
It runs two 32-inch 4K monitors in addition to a 27-inch 4K monitor and charges my Windows 11 Lenovo laptop, which was previously running Windows 10. You won’t have any issues, in my opinion.
Can the HP Probook 650 G3 use this?****
I believe it functions on any computer equipped with a USB C.
