OG Low Profile LED Tail Light V4 for 2023 to present FXLRST-1.0

1. Remove and Disconnect OEM Tail Light

  • Follow the instructions in your bike service manual to safely remove the existing tail light.
  • Disconnect any wiring connections carefully to avoid damaging the terminals or connectors.

2. Remove Terminal Lock

  • Locate the terminal lock on the OEM connector. This lock secures the terminals in place.
  • Use a small tool or a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the terminal lock open and remove it.

3. Remove the Terminal from OEM Connector

  • Use a terminal removal tool to remove the terminal from the OEM connector. The recommended tool is Aptiv PN# 12094429.
  • If you do not have a terminal removal tool, you can refer to this video for an economical alternative.
    o Insert the terminal removal tool into the connector to release the terminal’s locking tab.
    o Carefully pull the terminal out of the connector.

4. Re-Install the Terminal into the Supplied Connector

  • Insert the terminal into the supplied connector following the schematic diagram for the correct order.
  • Ensure the terminals are fully seated and locked into the new connector.

5. Re-Install the Connector Lock

  • After all terminals are securely in place, re-install the connector lock to ensure the terminals remain secure.
  • Make sure the lock snaps into place and holds the terminals firmly.

6. Install the Rubber Gasket on the Tail Light Baseplate

  • Place the provided rubber gasket onto the baseplate of the new OG LED Tail Light.
  • Ensure the gasket is properly aligned and seated to provide a good seal.

7. Tighten the OG LED Tail Light

  • Position the new OG LED Tail Light on your bike.
  • Tighten the tail light mounting screws to the specified torque of 10-12 in-lbs.
  • Use a torque wrench to ensure the screws are not overtightened, which could damage the light or mounting points.

Additional Tips

  • Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and correct according to the schematic.
  • Test the new tail light before fully reassembling the bike to ensure it functions properly.
