Safety Instructions
- Ensure the power supply is switched off before fitting or servicing Take care when servicing this luminaire as a residual charge may be present even if the supply has been isolated
- This luminaire is of Class Il construction.
- Only use a soft dry cloth to clean the lamp heads. Do not use any chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- This luminaire must be installed in accordance with the current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations
If in doubt, contact a qualified electrician
Testing Schedule
This luminaire should be subjected to routine and regular tests to ensure the
continued protection of premises and occupants.
Daily: Visual inspection of LED indicators
Monthly: Each unit should be isolated from the power supply for an
adequate time period to ensure the emergency function is operating correctly.
Every 6 months : A 1 hour test should be performed.
Yearly: A full 3 hour duration test should be performed.
LED Indicators
Lamp 1 Indicator: Orange to indicate lamp is ok
Lamp 2 Indicator: Orange to indicate lamp is ok
Charge Indicator : Green to indicate power is present and battery is
charging
Installation
- Undo the four screws on the front of the luminaire and remove the cover
- Using the body of the luminaire as a template, mark out the mounting positions
- Select an appropriate cable entry point and remove the knock out
- Fix the luminaire securely to the mounting surface
- Feed the supply cable through the cable entry point, using a grommet or cable gland to preserve the IP rating of the luminaire
- Terminate the supply cable into the terminals ensuring the correct polarity is observed
- Connect the battery pack to the PCB, ensuring the battery is secured within the holder
- Return the front cover and secure with the 4 screws. Switch on the supply and check that the LED indicators have illuminated to show that the unit is operational, the lamp continuity is ok and the battery is being charged.
- Operational check — leave the power supply on for 30 mins, then switch off. The LED lamps should illuminate for at least 30 seconds.
- When first installing this luminaire the battery pack will take a minimum of 24 hours to fully charge.
Unit Not Meeting Required Emergency Period
The battery may need cycling. Isolate and allow the battery to discharge fully, then recharge for at least 24 hours. Re-test to ensure correct operation. Battery may need replacing if emergency duration is still not met.

When the unit no longer meets its rated duration of operation, the batteries must be replaced with batteries of the same type, voltage and amp- hour rating
