Product Usage Instructions

Power Supply and Wiring:
This unit operates on a mains supply of 100 – 240 V ~ 50 / 60 Hz. Ensure to follow the wiring instructions provided:

• Use a BS 1363 approved main plug.
• Replace fuses with the same rating approved to BS 1362.
• Do not use the plug with the fuse cover omitted.
• If plug is not suitable for your home sockets, replace it with a suitable type.
• When handling mains plugs, follow the colour coding and connect wires accordingly.

Installing and Using the Product:
Follow these steps to install and use the wireless soundbar:

1. Connect the soundbar to your TV using an optical cable or HDMI cable.
2. If using external devices, connect them to the TV via HDMI cable.
3. Connect the power in the following order: wireless subwoofer, then the soundbar.
4. Turn on the soundbar; the LED on the wireless subwoofer will light up green when connection is established.

FAQ

• What should I do if the LED on the wireless subwoofer does not light up green?
  If the LED does not turn green, ensure that all connections are secure and that the power source is functioning correctly. You may need to check the power supply to both the soundbar and subwoofer.

• Can I use any type of plug with this unit?
  It is recommended to use a BS 1363 approved main plug with this unit. Using a plug that is not suitable for your home sockets may cause compatibility issues and should be avoided.

• Is it necessary to follow the wiring instructions when setting up the product?

• Wiring: This unit is supplied with a BS 1363 approved main plug. When replacing the fuse, always use a fuse of the same rating and approved to BS 1362. Never use this plug with the fuse cover omitted. To obtain a replacement fuse cover contact your dealer. If the type of plug supplied is not suitable for the mains sockets in your home, then the plug should be removed and a suitable type fitted. Please refer to the wiring instructions below:
  Warning: A mains plug removed from the mains lead of this unit must be destroyed. A mains plug with bared wires is hazardous if inserted in a mains socket. Do not connect either wire to the earth pin, marked with the letter E or with the earth symbol 6 or coloured green or green and yellow. If any other plug is fitted, use same rating of fuse in the plug.
  Important: The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following codes:

• BLUE: NEUTRAL, BROWN: LIVE – As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this unit may not correspond with the coloured marking identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

• A Soundbar
• B Remote Control Receiver
• C Status LED (1 2 3)
• D Wireless Subwoofer – Install it close to the soundbar.
• E External Device – (Blu-ray player, game console, etc.)

1. Connect the soundbar to your TV via an optical cable or an HDMI cable.

2. If you are using an external device (ex. Set-top box, Blu-ray player, game console, etc.), connect it to the TV via an HDMI cable.
   If necessary, purchase HDMI cables, an optical cable, or a USB extension cable to connect the soundbar.

3. Connect to power in the following order: wireless subwoofer soundbar. Then, turn on the soundbar. When the connection is automatically established with the soundbar, the LED on the wireless subwoofer will light up green.

4. Connecting the product to your smartphone via Bluetooth

5. Tap the Settings button on your smartphone and select Bluetooth. Turn on the Bluetooth function.

6. Press the Bluetooth pair button. After a moment, LED1 and LED2 blink white.

7. Find and tap the product on your smartphone. The product appears as “LG S40T(XX)”.

8. When the product is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, LED1 and LED2 light up white.

9. Connecting to the LG Soundbar app

10. Find and install the LG Soundbar app on Google Play or App Store from your smartphone.

11. You can get more information regarding its use by selecting [Help] in [Setting].

If you see a red LED on the wireless subwoofer, it means that the soundbar is not connected to the subwoofer. If this is the case, connect them in the following order.

1. Press the Power button on the soundbar to turn it off.

2. Press the PAIRING button on the back of the wireless subwoofer. Check if LED blinks green.
   If you still see a red LED on the wireless subwoofer, press and hold the button on the back of the subwoofer again.

3. Press the Power button on the soundbar to turn it on.

4. When the connection is established, you will see a green LED light on the wireless subwoofer light up.
   Keep the soundbar, the subwoofer away from the device (ex. wireless router, microwave oven, etc.) over 1 m to prevent wireless interference.
