CONNECTING TO WI-FI

Download the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app from the Apple App Store, or Google Play. For a link to the Smart Life app, use the QR codes below.
Having followed the instructions above for fitting your socket, it should be in pairing mode, indicated by a flashing light on the socket. If not, enable it by holding down one of the socket buttons for 6 seconds.
Open the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app. Press the ‘+’ symbol in the top right corner, followed by add device. Make sure to allow permission and turn on Bluetooth. Your device will appear on this screen.
Press add, and enter your WiFi information. You should see your device connecting to the system. You can now control your device.

CONTROL

Having followed the instructions for connecting your socket to Wi‐Fi, you can now control your socket from your phone.

Common functions
The quickest and easiest way to control your socket is through the ‘common functions’ section on the control screen. Press the text for 3 options, toggling either side of the socket, and the light mode for the indicator light.

Full control screen
Press the socket to enter the ‘full control’ screen. This screen allows you to access further control and settings for the socket. On this screen you will see switch 1 & 2 of the socket, with options to switch them on and off, a clock icon to indicate the schedule, and hourglass icon for ‘countdown’ and ‘delay shut’ options.
Use the schedule to schedule your socket, allowing it to automatically turn on and off at a specified time. The countdown will turn off the socket after a specified amount of time, much like a timer. The ‘delay shut’ option will switch the socket off automatically after a specified time following the switch being turned on.
From this screen you can access the settings for your socket, by pressing the cog at the bottom right.

Settings

  • Switch logs is a log of when your socket has been switched on and off, allowing you to see when and for how long an appliance has been active.
  • Relay status will be the status of your socket after the power supply is lost then returned. You can choose to have it on or off by default, or to remember it’s last position.
  • Light mode changes how the LED indicator on the socket works, allowing you to have it always on or off, or the default setting as an indicator light.
  • The child lock setting allows you to disable functionality in the physical buttons to stop appliances from being switched on and off. To change the name and location of your switch in the app, press the 3 dots in the top right, followed by the pen icon. You can now enter your desired device  name and location. On this menu you will also find further options, including ‘device information’, ‘tap‐to‐run and automation’, ‘offline notification’ and more.
