How to drive Skinetic
Skinetic SDK & Unitouch Studio
Whether you are developing for the gaming industry, automotive industry, or any other industry that requires high-quality haptic feedback, Skinetic SDK and Unitouch Studio provide the solution you need to design, integrate and manage the haptic feedback on Skinetic. Skinetic SDK is a software library that enables you to interface your application with Skinetic Creators Edition, providing developers with the tools they need to create immersive haptic experiences for their users. Unitouch Studio is a powerful haptic authoring tool that empowers designers and developers to create high-definition haptic assets to enhance the immersion of a wide range of applications, from gaming, XR, professional training and multimedia. It integrates Unitouch Library, a comprehensive collection of haptic samples, curated and organized to provide developers with a wide range of tactile sensations and effects.
Unitouch Studio is available for Windows (7 and later) and macOS (10.13 and later). Skinetic SDK is available for different platforms (Windows, Android, macOS). Skinetic SDK is also available as a plugin for Unity3D and Unreal Engine for Windows. Connecting Skinetic to your Computer
To use Skinetic, connect it to your computer with the desired connectivity, either Bluetooth, WiFi or USB. Once connected/paired to your machine, any content integrating Unitouch SDK will be able to connect to the vest and drive the haptic feedback.
For design purposes, it works with Unitouch Studio. You will find detailed instructions to use it with Unitouch Studio.
Bluetooth
This procedure can be divided into two important steps: (1) pairing the vest to your computer OS and (2) connecting it to Unitouch Studio.
Pairing 1. Turn on the Bluetooth in your computer. 2. Start the pairing procedure of the OS to add a new Bluetooth device. 3. Turn on the vest by pressing the Power button. The vest will vibrate and the rightmost LED should be static green. 4. Click the left button of the Skinetic for starting the pairing procedure. The Sync LED should start breathing in blue, indicating that the device is pairing. The vest will start to vibrate from side to side. 5. Select the Skinetic device you want to pair. The device name should be: SKINETIC. Each Skinetic displays a unique serial number. 6. You are now ready to use it with any compatible software.
IMPORTANT: As for now, this repairing process needs to be repeated. We will update this procedure as soon as possible. For more information check our support website; https://www.skinetic.actronika.com/support
USB
Before connecting the vest please make sure that these conditions are met. The vest is properly connected to the battery. The Power LED should be displaying a static green light. Plug the USB-C to USB-A cable to the vest and USB 3.0 port of your computer.
13

WiFi
Configure Skinetic to connect it to your Network Before using Skinetic in WiFi mode, you first must configure the vest to be able to connect to the network you want to use it in.
To do so: 1. Connect your Skinetic vest to your computer through USB. 2. Make sure that the vest is powered on. 3. Use Skinetic Hub to open the network configuration. 4. Within the Skinetic Hub, enter the SSID and Password of the targeted network.
Note;: By default the vest connects with DHCP for an automatic IP configuration. It is possible to configure it with a static IP¨address for an advanced network configuration, allowing you to define the IP, subnet mask and gateway.
5. Once entered, save the parameters for the vest to be able to use. 6. Disconnect the vest from your computer, i.e. unplug the USB cable from both ends. 7. Change the connectivity mode to WiFI by pushing the Sync button for 2 seconds. 8. The vest LEDs should blink in white and become steady once connected to the WiFi
network. If it stays blinking, that means that the vest doesn’t successfully connect to the network, start over the procedure to make sure all the entered parameters are correct.
Experimental: Multi-Channel Audio Interface
In addition to its standard features, Skinetic also includes an experimental mode that exposes the haptic feedback through a multichannel audio interface. This mode is not yet ready for production, but offers an exciting glimpse into the future possibilities of haptic technology.
You can use it with any solutions able to drive multi channel audio interfaces, e.g. Digital Audio Workstations or custom programs. This interface offers the most flexible way to drive haptic as you directly manage the haptic stream that is being restituted on the vest, enabling dynamic and real-time haptic rendering.
To use the vest in this mode, make sure that the skinetic device is not set as the default audio output of your OS. and drive it from your application.
Note: This mode has been tested on windows with WASAPI and ASIO drivers, MacOS with CoreAudio driver, and Linux with ALSA driver.

1° Il correspond à la description, au type, à la quantité et à la qualité, notamment en ce qui concerne la fonctionnalité, la compatibilité, l’interopérabilité, ou toute autre caractéristique prévues au contrat ;
2° Il est propre à tout usage spécial recherché par le consommateur, porté à la connaissance du vendeur au plus tard au moment de la conclusion du contrat et que ce dernier a accepté ;
3° Il est délivré avec tous les accessoires et les instructions d’installation, devant être fournis conformément au contrat ;

1° De la valeur qu’aurait le bien en l’absence de défaut de conformité ;

The consumer has a period of two years from the date of delivery of the goods to enforce the legal warranty of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity and not the date of its appearance.
Where the contract for the sale of the goods provides for the supply of digital content or a digital service on a continuous basis for a period of more than two years, the legal warranty shall apply to that digital content or digital service throughout the period of supply provided. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity of the digital content or service and not the date of its appearance.
The legal warranty of conformity entails an obligation on the part of the seller, where applicable, to provide any updates necessary to maintain the conformity of the goods. The legal warranty of conformity gives the consumer the right to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of his request, free of charge and without any major inconvenience to him.
If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial warranty.
If the consumer asks for the good to be repaired, but the seller imposes a replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date of the replacement of the good.

The consumer may obtain a reduction in the purchase price by keeping the goods or terminate the contract by obtaining a full refund in exchange for the return of the goods, if:
1° The seller refuses to repair or replace the goods; 2° The goods are repaired or replaced after a period of thirty days; 3° The repair or replacement of the goods causes major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular where the consumer definitively bears the cost of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or if he bears the cost of installing the repaired or replacement goods; 4° The non-conformity of the goods persists despite the seller’s unsuccessful attempt to bring them into conformity.
The consumer shall also be entitled to a reduction in the price of the goods or to rescission of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious as to justify immediate reduction in the price or rescission of the contract. The consumer is then not obliged to request repair or replacement of the goods beforehand.
The consumer is not entitled to rescind the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any downtime period for the purpose of repair or replacement shall suspend the warranty which was due until delivery of the repaired goods.
The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the Consumer Code.
A seller who obstructs the implementation of the legal warranty of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10% of its average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal warranty for hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the Civil Code, for a period of two years from the discovery of the defect. This warranty entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept or to a full refund in return for the return of the goods.
