Electro Harmonix B0C3X3GW7Y Lizard King Octave Fuzz pedal
Welcome to the Electro-Harmonix Lizard King Octave Fuzz pedal. The Lizard King builds upon the vintage-inspired octave fuzz sounds of the EHX Lizard Queen designed by Josh Scott of JHS Pedals, expanding the fuzz possibilities and providing key enhancements, including controls for BLEND and TONE. With wider tonal range for any instrument and improved utility for bass, the Lizard King is the preeminent reptilian fuzz pedal.
Operating Instructions
Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack of the Lizard King and the AMP jack to your amp’s input. Power your Lizard King with a 9V battery or external 9VDC power supply. Press the footswitch to ensure the LED is lit. Your Lizard King is now ready to play.
POWER SUPPY REQUIREMENTS
Voltage: 9VDC Current: 8mA Polarity: Center-Negative
This device may be powered with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200, MOP-D10, or S8 power supply. Use of the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage the device and void the warranty. Do not exceed 12VDC on the power plug. Power supplies rated for less than 50mA can cause the device to act unreliably.
Controls and Connections
- OCTAVE Knob Controls the intensity of the octave effect. Turn clockwise for more octave, or turn counterclockwise for a deeper sound.
- TONE Knob Controls the high frequencies of the Lizard King. When the knob is fully clockwise the pedal is “wide open” – passing the full fuzz tone. As this knob is turned counterclockwise, high frequencies are rolled off.
- BLEND Knob Blends between the fuzz/octave and a clean signal with no fuzz. This is useful for maintaining the attack and low-end for bass instruments, and for allowing more harmonic detail for guitar or other chord instruments. When Blend is set fully counterclockwise, the output is a clean tone. As the knob is turned clockwise, more fuzz tone is mixed in. When Blend is set fully clockwise, the output is all octave fuzz effect.
- VOLUME Knob Sets the output level of the Lizard King.
- SUN/SHADOW Switch With this switch set to SUN, the octave fuzz is boosted with a more driving midrange, and the clean tone accessed by the BLEND knob has enhanced treble and bass frequencies. When the switch is set to SHADOW, the clean tone is unchanged, and fuzz tone is tighter.
- FOOTSWITCH and STATUS LED The footswitch engages or bypasses the effect. The status LED lights when the effect is engaged. The LED is off in bypass mode. The Lizard King employs True Bypass.
- INPUT Jack Audio input to the Lizard King.
- AMP Jack Audio output from the Lizard King. In bypass mode, the AMP jack is directly connected to the INPUT jack.
- 9V Power Jack An optional 9VDC, center-negative power supply can be connected to the power jack to provide power without a battery. The Lizard King requires 8mA at 9VDC on a center-negative plug. Do not exceed 12VDC at the power jack.
When using a 9V battery, plugging into the INPUT jack activates power. The input cable should be removed when the unit is not in use to avoid running down the battery.
To change the 9-volt battery, you must remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the Lizard Queen. Once the screws are removed, you can take off the bottom plate and change the battery. Please do not touch the circuit board while the bottom plate is off or you risk damaging a component.
