Product Installation

  1. Apply the Anti-Static Film
Place the anti-static film on the dotted area of the windshield as shown in the image. Select a smooth and clean area of the windshield to apply the anti- static film (do not place it on the edges). Clean the area first and completely remove any air bubbles that appear between the anti-static film and the windshield during application.

  2. Insert the Micro SD Card
Insert the Micro SD card into the slot until you hear a “click” sound.

  3. Mount the Dash Cam
Remove the protective film from the adhesive on the base of the camera mount and attach the dash cam to the dotted area of the anti-static film. To ensure a perfect fit between the heat-resistant adhesive paper and the anti-static film, manually press the base of the mount.

  4. Route the Cables and Connect to Power
As shown in the image, route the power cables along the top of the windshield, the A-pillar, and the glove compartment of the front passenger seat near the vehicle’s cigarette lighter. Connect the cables to the car charger and then insert the cigarette lighter.

Note: The location of the cigarette lighter may vary in each vehicle; the previous image is for reference only.

Quick Setup

  1. Download the App
Download the KAWA AUTO app by scanning the QR code below. (After downloading the app, you can use it to view real-time video recorded by the dash cam, adjust the installation angle of the dash cam, and view/download recorded videos.)

  2. Add to the App
Open the KAWA AUTO app, click on the “+” in the upper right corner, select “KAWA Dash Cam MINI 3” and follow the instructions in the app to operate.

    • During the process of adding the dash cam to the app, the phone must connect to the dash cam’s hotspot.
    • Connect to the device’s mobile network (make sure it is on), not to another device’s mobile network or your home Wi-Fi network.
    • Access Point Name: KAWA_MINI 3_XXXX (as indicated on the product label) Initial Password: 12345678
    • To connect to the dash cam’s access point, your phone’s operating system must be Android 5.0 / iOS 8.0 or higher.
    • If you activate a VPN, disable it before connecting the dash cam.

Power Source User Guide

  • The dash cam uses the vehicle’s cigarette lighter as a power source. To ensure a stable power source, use the original car charger and power cable. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by using a power source other than the vehicle’s cigarette lighter or by using another car charger or power cable that is not original.
  • In some vehicles, the cigarette lighter continues to function even when the engine is off. Using the dash cam for a long period with the engine off may cause excessive battery drain. If parking mode is not enabled, turn off the dash cam manually or disconnect the charger once the vehicle is stopped. The next time the vehicle is started, you will need to turn on the dash cam manually. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by not turning off the dash cam manually.
  • In vehicles where the cigarette lighter continues to consume energy once the engine is off, if parking mode is enabled and the vehicle is parked for a long time, disconnect the charger to avoid unnecessary battery drain.

Micro SD Card Usage Instructions

  • The Micro SD card is not included in the package. You must purchase your own Micro SD card.
  • The dash cam is compatible with standard Micro SD cards. Use a 16 GB to 128 GB Micro SD card with Class 10 or higher data speed.
  • Insert a suitable Micro SD card before using the dash cam.
  • The default partition format of the Micro SD card may differ from the dash cam’s format. Format the Micro SD card in the dash cam before using it for the first time. This will delete all files on the Micro SD card. Ensure you have backed up important data on another device beforehand.
  • To avoid a drop in read/write speed after prolonged use, format the Micro SD card in the dash cam once a month.
  • Micro SD cards may become damaged or write at a slower speed after being overwritten multiple times, affecting the ability to save video and image files. If this happens, replace the Micro SD card as soon as possible. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by the Micro SD card.
  • Use a high-quality Micro SD card. A low-quality Micro SD card may have differences in actual read/write speed and nominal speed, as well as differences in actual storage capacity and nominal capacity. The manufacturer is not responsible for any loss or damage to videos caused by a low-quality Micro SD card.
  • To avoid damaging recorded video on the Micro SD card, do not insert or remove the Micro SD card while the dash cam is on.
