Hardware

2x Light Tobs

2x 3/8-16×1″Carriage Bolts

2 x 3/8-16 Nylocks

2 x 3/8″ Washers

Mounting Brackets

  • Remove the 2 T-30 torx bolts from the outer lower sections of the front plastics, save these because they will be used with the EOD bumper.

  • Remove the 2 clips located in center bottom section of the front grill, these will not be needed with the new setup.

  • With a 15mm socket setup remove the 4 bolts securing the factory bumper to the vehicle, these bolts will be used later so set aside for now.

  • Separate the EOD bumper’s inner structure from the outer bumper by removing the hardware with arrows pointing to them in the pictures above with a 5/32” hex tool.

  • Using the factory 15mm bolts removed earlier, mount the inner structure to the vehicle as shown in the picture above, torque down the bolts.

  • A winch can be installed with the wiring coming out either side of the bumper to accommodate for different setups, if one is being used then install it now paying attention to how the rope exits the spool of the winch making sure it is a straight line to the fairlead that mounts to the outer bumper. The wiring to the winch can be done once the bumper is fully assembled but it is much easier to access at this stage of assembly. Next torque the winch hardware down to the manufacture’s specification then unlock the winch and pull a couple of feet of rope out to make feeding it through the outer bumper easier in the next step.

  • With the outer bumper on a work bench install the fairlead to the outside of the bumper if a winch is being used, also right now is when any lighting being installed needs to done at this step using the supplied brackets and hardware if needed. With so many types and sizes of lights available pay attention to make sure there is no interference with the grill or plastics of the vehicle upon assembly.

  • Take the outer bumper and install it over the inner structure that is mounted to the vehicle making sure the fender and grill plastics go UNDER the outer bumper. Start the 2 top 5/32” hex bolts first then start the 4 hex bolts circled on the bottom section of the bumper, refer to the pictures above if needed. Once all 6 hex bolts are slightly threaded in, they can now be tightened down working from the center 2 bolts, upper 2 bolts and finally the lower 2 bolts.

  • Loosen the 2 10mm factory bolts slightly that secure the brackets shown in the picture above to make hardware alignment easier, locate the 2 factory T30 bolts removed earlier and install them through the outer holes of the bumper and into the brackets that were just loosened. Tighten down the T30 torx to the bumper first and the 10mm bolt second, Attach the hook to the winch rope and run it in to get rid of the slack created earlier. Perform a final check over of the work done and enjoy your EOD bumper!
