BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE, CAREFULLY READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION AND
USER INSTRUCTIONS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN FIRE
OR PRODUCT FAILURE AS WELL AS SEVERE INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND THE
CANCELLATION OF THE WARRANTY.
WARNINGS
When using this appliance, basic precautions should always be taken to reduce
the risk of injury, fire, electric shock, and property damage.
- This device becomes hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not touch the surface with bare hands.
- Keep flammable materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes, and curtains at least 39 ⅜* (100 CM) away from the fireplace.
- To prevent overheating, never block air intakes or exhaust and do not allow foreign objects to enter them as this may cause injury due to electric shock or fire and damage the unit.
- Extreme caution is necessary when using this appliance near children and whenever the unit is left operating unattended.
- Always unplug the unit when not in use.
- Do not operate the fireplace if the plug or cord is damaged, or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return it to your retail store with the proof of purchase.
- This appliance is not intended for outdoor use or for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, pools or locations where it is exposed to water.
- Do not run the cord under carpeting and do not cover it. Place the cord away from high-traffic areas and where it will not be tripped over. Do not let it come into contact with hot surfaces.
- To unplug the appliance, grasp the plug and pull straight out; never pull on the cord.
- Do not use on soft surfaces where openings may be blocked.
- This device contains parts that become hot and produce sparks. Do not use it in areas where gasoline and flammable liquids are used or stored
- Only use the fireplace as described in this guide. Any other installation could pose a risk of injury or fire and would void the one-year limited warranty.
- Replace light bulbs only when the unit is disconnected from its power source and once it has cooled.
- To avoid the risk of suffocation, keep the plastic packaging away from children. Discard bags and any other packaging immediately after removing the contents.
- Keep these instructions for future reference.
CAUTION: To avoid the risk of fire or injury due to an inadvertent thermal cut-out resetting, this device must not be linked to an external switching device or connected to a circuit that is regularly turned on and off.
Grounding
PLUG THE POWER CORD INTO A PROPERLY GROUNDED SOCKET (AC 120 V, 60 HZ). DO NOT
USE AN EXTENSION CORD OR POWER STRIP.
Before installation
- To avoid injury or damage, two people are required to install the appliance.
- Do not connect the unit or use it until it is securely fastened to the wall and only after having read the following instructions.
- Do not lift the appliance by the front panel.
- Do not connect the heater until properly fixed to the wall and the instructions is read fully.
- The minimum distances must be observed.
- Before drilling holes in the wall, make sure not to damage concealed cables.
- The wall bracket must be fitted horizontally and the cable routed to the bottom right of the heater.
- A height of 23 ⅝” (60 CM) from the bottom of the heater to the floor is recommended for optimum viewing of the flame effect.
Installation
CAUTION: This appliance is designed to be permanently fixed to a wall at a minimum height of 11 ¾” (30 CM).
- Keep the top of the heater at least 39 3/8 ” (100 CM) away from the ceiling or other objects for optimum heat distribution.
- For optimum view, mark the top screws fixing positions on the wall with a pencil. Drill holes with a #6 drill bit.
- Fix the wall bracket using the anchors and screws provided.
- Carefully lift the heater up ensuring that the two top rear slots of the heater engage the wall bracket and is sitting centrally.
- Gently bring the heater level with the wall.
- Mark the location of the two holes in the lower bracket using a pencil, then remove the fireplace.
- Drill and fit the provided anchors.
- Place the fireplace back onto the wall bracket and use the screws provided to secure the bracket and fireplace in place permanently.
- Unpack the pebbles or crystals from the bag and place them along the light unit in the desired position.
- Place the front glass panel over the heater aligning the hooks with the slots at each side of the heater body. Then slide down the glass panel in place. Two persons are required to install the front panel.
- Insert and tighten the front glass panel screw to secure it to the unit.
Operation
THIS APPLIANCE CAN BE OPERATED MANUALLY OR WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL.
- The buttons are located at the top right-hand side of the fireplace. The “standby“ switch must first be switched on. You will hear a beep to signal that it is on.
- Press once on the power button “ON/OFF” to turn on the appliance. A red indicator light will appear to indicate that the unit is ON. Press the button and hold for 3 seconds to operate the colour mode.
- Press the 750 W button once for the low heat setting; press it twice to switch off the heat setting.
- Press the 1500 W button once for the high heat setting; press it twice to switch off the heat setting.
Remote
- The ”standby” button located at the top right-hand side of the fireplace must first be switched on. You will hear a beep to signal that it is on.
- It takes a moment for the receiver to respond to the remote. For correct operation, DO NOT press the buttons more than once within the first two seconds.
- Press the “ON/OFF” button once on the remote control to turn on the appliance.
- Press the 750 W button once for the low heat setting; press it twice to switch off the heat setting.
- Press the 1500 W button once for the high heat setting; press it twice to switch off the heat setting.
- Press the color button to operate the color mode. Repeated pressing will change the color effects. The remote control is operated by two AAA batteries (not included).
Automatic safety shut-off
- This appliance is fitted with a safety shut-off mechanism which will operate if the unit overheats (blocked air vents, malfunction or other). For safety reasons, it will NOT automatically reset.
- Do not use the appliance with any other type of programmer, timer, remote control or any other device that would switch it on automatically.
- To reset the appliance, disconnect it from the outlet for at least 15 minutes. Reconnect the unit and switch it on.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Caution: Turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning. Use a soft, clean duster for general cleaning. Never use harsh or abrasive cleaners. The glass viewing screen should be cleaned carefully with a soft cloth. Do not use glass cleaners. This appliance uses an electronically controlled LED system to create the flame effect, so no parts need to be replaced. There are no user- serviceable parts on this appliance. Under no circumstances should the appliance be serviced by anyone other than a qualified electrician.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
NOVELCA offers a limited warranty for this product (hereafter: the “Product”) for one (1) year from the date of purchase of this Product, with the conditions set out below. This limited warranty is valid only for the original purchaser of the Product and it may not be transferred. The present limited warranty is not meant to exclude, restrict, limit or modify the legal warranty given by law to the purchaser of the Product. If the Product contains a manufacturing defect or if one or more parts of the Product is defective, the retailer commits to replace or repair, at its sole discretion, the defective part or parts without charge under the following cumulative conditions: 1) the purchaser must contact the retail store where the Product was purchased; 2) the purchaser must return the defective part or parts or the Product to the retailer; 3) the purchaser must provide the retailer the invoice as proof of purchase and date of purchase of the Product; 4) the purchaser must supply the Product identification information, including the serial number or the model number; and 5) the period of one (1) year covered by this limited warranty must not be expired. If the retailer decides to replace the defective part or parts, the replacement part or parts would be new or reconditioned, equivalent to new parts. The present limited warranty does not create any other obligation with the provider of the guarantee than those explicitly described above.
This limited warranty is not applicable: 1) to consumable parts; 2) to normal wear; 3) when the Product is used for other purposes than what is described in the user guide (if any); 4) when the serial number or other identification information of the Product is erased or withdrawn; 5) to damages that are only aesthetic and do not affect the normal use of the Product; 6) when the damages, defects, faults or other problems arise from: a) an inadequate maintenance of the Product; b) a faulty installation or assembly of the Product or an installation or assembly that is not in accordance with the user or installation guide (if one is provided); c) a modification, a repair or dismantling of the Product by a person not authorized by the retailer or the manufacturer; d) the transportation by the purchaser, his employee, officer or representative; e) a negligence by the purchaser, his employee, officer or representative; f) an accident; g) a case of force majeure or any event that is not caused by the Product itself.
FRENCH VERSION VS ENGLISH VERSION
In case of discrepancy between the French and the English versions of the text
of this limited warranty, the French version shall prevail.
