Product Usage Instructions

  • Maintenance Intervals:
Monitor the control panel for maintenance alerts. Replace or inspect filters and perform other checks as per the specified intervals.

  • Checking and Replacing Filters:
Inspect vacuum controller and main air filters every 1,000 hours. Replace them every 2,000 hours or when visibly dirty. The vacuum controller filter is located on top of the vacuum, while the main air filter can be accessed by lifting the vacuum controller.

  • Checking Oil Drip Rate:
Regularly check the oil drip rate and ensure there are no oil leaks or defects in the unit. Perform this check every 1,000 hours.

  • Changing Oil:
Change the oil every 2,000 hours. Drain the oil into a suitable container, ensuring not to overfill the reservoir. Use Ramvac Fully Synthetic Vacuum Oil for best results.

  • Checking Oil Filter:
Inspect the oil filter every 2,000 hours. If dirty, contact your dealer for a replacement. Hand-tighten the oil filter during reassembly.

  • Checking V-Belt(s) and S-Type Exhaust Filter:
Inspect V-belt(s) for wear every 2,000 hours and replace them if necessary. For models with an S-type exhaust filter, check the filter element every 2,000 hours to prevent motor overload.

LUBRICATION & FILTER MAINTENANCE (DRY VACUUM SYSTEMS)

MAINTENANCE INTERVALS

  • The control panel will display the number of hours before maintenance is due.
  • If a lighted remote switch is installed, it will flash the light indicating that maintenance is due.
  • If OWLTM Touch is installed, it will indicate that maintenance is due on the display.

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE (SEE USER MANUAL FOR DETAILS) CHECK VACUUM CONTROLLER AND MAIN AIR FILTERS
Inspect air filters every 1,000 hours. Replace filters every 2,000 hours or when visibly dirty. The vacuum controller filter is readily seen on top of the vacuum. The main air filter is accessed by lifting the vacuum controller up and out of the filtrols.

  • CHECK OIL DRIP RATE
Check the drip rate at the dripper site glass every 1,000 hours. Drip rate should be one to three drops per minute at each dripper at operating temperature. Vacuum setting is 7″ to 7.5″ Hg and ambient temperature of 70°F to 75°F.

  • CHECK THE PHYSICAL APPEARANCE OF THE UNIT
Check every 1,000 hours. Check vacuum appearance for oil leaks and other defects.

  • CHANGE OIL
Check every 2,000 hours. Place empty oil container (6-quart minimum) under oil drain tube and drain oil. If you see water in the oil, contact your dealer or Ramvac. Remove oil fill cap and add oil until oil level reaches the “Fill Level” mark on the “Oil Level Fill” label.

CAUTION! DO NOT OVERFILL OIL RESERVOIR.

Use of Ramvac Fully Synthetic Vacuum Oil (PN: 7809-001) is highly recommended. Securely install oil fill cap. Dispose of used oil at a gas station or lubricant recycling station.

  • CHECK OIL FILTER
Check every 2,000 hours. Unscrew oil filter and remove filter element. If element is dirty, contact your dealer or Ramvac. Re-assemble oil filter. Hand tighten only.

  • CHECK V-BELT(S)
Inspect V-belt(s) for wear every 2,000 hours. Replace if frayed or cracked. Contact your dealer or Ramvac.

  • CHECK S-TYPE EXHAUST FILTER
Check filter element every 2,000 hours. S-type exhaust filters are standard on RV10 and RV12 models and optional on RV4, RV5 and RV7 models. If applicable, see USER MANUAL for details or contact your dealer or Ramvac. Failure to maintain filter element can increase amperage and possibly trip motor overload.
