Product Usage Instructions
- Inflation/Deflation:
- To inflate: Remove the pump and close the valve cover.
- To deflate: Open the valve cover and squeeze the air out by pressing on the upper surface. Close the valve cover when finished.
- Note: The cushion comes pre-filled with air but can be adjusted by the user based on comfort preferences.
- Installation:
Place the cushion on the wheelchair with the valve side down and tie straps towards the back of the wheelchair. Secure the cushion to the back of the wheelchair using the straps provided.
Easy Care
- Clean the cushion with a spray and wipe cleaning solution. Avoid using bleach on the cushion. Do not launder the cushion.

Purpose
- The Skil-Care Bio-shield Air Cushion provides comfort and pressure relief with the added benefit of bacteria-fighting properties.
- The cushion is made from antifungal, antibacterial wipe wipe-clean vinyl to decrease the spread of infection. The low profile makes it easy for the air to adjust and conform to the user’s body.
Inspection Inflation and Deflation
- A properly inflated cushion will appear to be half full.
- Place the individual on the cushion in his/her normal sitting position.
- Slide your hand between the cushion and the surface of the chair and feel for the lowest bony prominence.
- If the bony prominence is felt, remove the patient and add air as needed.
- If the bony prominence isn’t felt no action is required.
- Optional air pump; open the valve, place the pump inside the valve, and use pump action to inflate.
- Remove the pump and close the valve cover.
- To deflate the cushion, open the valve cover and squeeze the air out by pressing on the upper surface.
- Close the valve cover when finished.
- Note: These cushions are pre-filled with air but can be adjusted by the user
- Note: Skil-Care Corp. has determined the proper fill height by carefully testing the product with several individuals of varying stature.
- It should be noted that once the product leaves the factory the inflation will vary with the weather, temperature, and atmospheric pressure. On occasion, it may be necessary to adjust the air level.
