Congratulations!
Thank you for purchasing the MyBaby by Homedics Automatic Soap Dispenser. The
Automatic Soap Dispenser will engage your child’s imagination while helping
them to learn proper hand washing technique.
Features:
- Works with any type of liquid hand soap
- Motion sensor technology provides sanitary, hands-free operation
- Magnetically attached drip tray removes easily for cleaning
- Self-cleaning function prevents clogs and mess
- 20 second training song
How To Install Batteries:
Use a coin to turn the Battery/Control Compartment door screw to the “open” position (Figure 1). Open the Battery Compartment door. Insert three (3) AA alkaline batteries carefully, following the polarity (+/–) markings shown inside the battery compartment (Figure 2). Note: when the batteries are low and need replacing, the red LED Low Battery Indicator (Figure 3) will flash for 10 seconds after each dispensing cycle.
Caution: All servicing of this product must be performed by authorized HoMedics Service Personnel only.
How To Use
- Lift the cover to the Soap Reservoir, remove the plug and fill the reservoir up to the “MAX” line. Do not overfill as this may cause dripping. Replace the plug in the soap reservoir securely.
- Open the Battery & Control Compartment on the bottom of the unit and press the POWER button. The Red LED will turn on for 12 seconds while the unit is in Setup Mode. During this period, the Motion Sensor and motor will not function. This will allow enough time to close the Battery & Control Compartment door and position the unit without triggering the Motion Sensor.
- Attach the Drip Tray by placing as shown below. Magnets help to secure in position.
- Place your hand under the spout to activate the Motion Sensor. The Soap Dispenser will then dispense soap and play the training Song. Note: The Soap Dispenser will automatically turn the Song Mode to ON when the device is powered ON. To turn Song Mode OFF, press the SONG button (Figure 2) once.

How to use the CLEAN Function: If you wish to change the type of soap in
the Dispenser, you may use the CLEAN function to empty and clean the unit.
Open the Battery/Control Compartment door (Figure 2). Press the CLEAN button
and the unit will enter the auto cleaning mode. The motor will turn on and
pump for 30 seconds. During this period, you can press the CLEAN button again
to abort the cleaning function (motor will turn off). Repeat until there is no
more soap in the reservoir. To thoroughly flush out the unit, you should add
water to the reservoir and repeat the cleaning process.
Note: Hold device over a sink or dish when running the Clean function, to
prevent soap from spilling onto counter.
IMPORTANT:
- The Motion Detector that activates dispensing uses a sensitive infrared sensor. To avoid accidental dispensing of soap, please do not place the Soap Dispenser in direct sunlight.
- After a period of inactivity, the soap inside Soap Dispenser may become dry and clog the line. Should this occur, simply use a toothpick or water to remove the obstruction.
- The only part of the Soap Dispenser designed to be wet is the liquid reservoir and spout. Do not immerse the Soap Dispenser in water as the product will be damaged.
- Run the CLEAN Function to flush the liquid/soap reservoir with water and remove batteries from the battery compartment whenever the Soap Dispenser is to be left unused for a long period of time.
- To clean the unit, use a soft damp cloth. Do not clean with an abrasive material or corrosive substances.
- The device is not designed to be held or tipped upside down when there is soap in the Reservoir. Use caution to maintain the device on a level surface at all times.
- Make sure your child understands that liquid soap solution is not for drinking and that it should be kept away from the eyes.
Trouble Shooting:
No Soap Dispensed; Motor Does Not Run
1. Ensure that Soap Dispenser is turned on. Press and hold the POWER button
for 3 seconds to turn off. Press the POWER button once to turn ON.
2. Make sure hands are placed directly between the Motion Sensor and Spout.
3. Ensure that unit is not placed in bright sunlight, which will interfere
with Motion Sensor operation.
4. Check that batteries are installed with correct polarity (+/–) and are not
dead.
No Soap Dispensed; Motor Runs
1. During start-up you may need to activate the Motion Sensor several times
to “prime” the pump to begin dispensing soap.
2. The soap reservoir should be at least ¼ FULL.
3. Make sure that no dried soap is clogging the spout or pump tubing. Use a
toothpick to clean the spout if necessary.
No Audio/Song
1. If unit dispenses (motor runs) but does not play music, the SONG button
has been turned OFF. Make sure your hands are dry before opening the battery
compartment. Open the battery compartment and press the SONG button once to
activate the SONG mode.
2. If unit does not dispense (motor does not run) or play audio, check
batteries for proper positioning and/or replacement.
Battery Precautions:
- Use AA alkaline batteries only. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
- Replace all batteries at the same time.
- Clean the battery contacts and the contacts of the device prior to battery installation with a dry cloth.
- Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+/–).
- Remove batteries from the unit when it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
- Remove depleted batteries from the unit promptly. Dispose of used batteries safely. Keep all batteries away from children. Batteries are small objects and could be ingested. If swallowed, contact a physician at once. Do not open batteries or dispose of in fire. Do not mix the new and used batteries.
