Check the batteries

Press and hold the number “1” on your keypad. Make sure you see a solid green LED at the top of the remote.

If you do not see a green light, change the batteries in your remote. Here’s how:

  1. Remove the battery cover and replace with fresh AA batteries.
  2. Push and hold any button. You should see a solid green light at the top of your remote.
  3. Press the GUIDE or MENU button to test your remote.

Check the Mode switch

  1. Slide the Mode Switch to DIRECTV  (all the way to the left). This allows your remote to control the receiver.
  2. Press the GUIDE or MENU button to test your remote. Make sure the button is not stuck in the pressed-down position.

Program your remote

**Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver’s sensor or the remote’s

emitter**

  1. Turn your remote control over. Wipe the top with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  2. Wipe the front panel of your receiver.
  3. Press the GUIDE or MENU button to test your remote.

Reset your receiver

Press and hold the red reset button, located on the front or the right side of your receiver.

If you don’t see a red reset button, unplug the receiver’s power cord from the outlet and wait 15 seconds to plug it back in.
