Operation
Switch on the money detector.
Banknotes with UV-sensitive markings:
Place the banknote under the UV light of the detector. The UV-sensitive
markings will appear.
Banknotes with non-UV-sensitive markings:
• Place the banknote under the UV light of the detector. No UV-sensitive
marking will appear and the bank note’s texture will not change. No watermark
will be visible.
• The holographic indicia will be visible on the front of the banknote but not
on the back.
Most counterfeit banknotes:
• Place the banknote under the UV light of the detector. The counterfeit
banknote will immediately glow blue. The watermark will not be visible, unlike
the holographic indicia which will be highly visible, both on the front and on
the back of the banknote.
• All counterfeit banknotes are fluorescent. If in doubt, verify the
watermark: it must be very clear with well-defined colors. A banknote that is
not too used must feel crisp and be slightly rough on the prints. The banknote
must not be limp, shiny, or waxy.
WARNING
This money detector has a black plastic housing and features one (ZLUV220) or
two (ZLUV220/2) blue UV lamps. Do not place the detector at eyes height to
prevent eye damage. Each lamp has a lifetime of 2,000 to 4,000 hours.
