How do I use the generator?

The generator is easy to use. It has a pull cord that you can start manually. or you can use the automatic electric starter.

How do I start the generator?

To start the generator, pull the cord and release it. The engine will start.

How do I stop the generator?

To stop the generator, turn off the fuel supply valve and press the STOP button on the control panel.

What is a transfer switch?

A transfer switch allows you to connect your home’s electrical system to power from a portable generator or utility power. A transfer switch is required if you want to restore power to your home with a portable generator. A transfer switch must be installed by a qualified electrician to ensure safety.

What is an automatic electric starter?

An automatic electric starter allows you to start the generator without pulling a cord. It uses an engine sensor and an electric motor to start your generator automatically when you turn on your household appliances. A qualified technician must install an automatic electric starter on your portable generator before it can be used.

What should I do if my portable generator starts but does not run?

First, check that all connections are tight and that there are no loose wires or broken connections in the control panel or engine compartment. If you have checked all of these things and still cannot get your portable generator started, contact Customer Service for assistance at 1-800-444-3353 (U.S.) or 1-800-361-6665 (Canada).

Are Firman generators loud?

What is the difference between inverter generator and regular generator?

Conventional generators use a mechanical alternator to produce alternating current (or AC) power that’s ready to use. Inverter generators also use an alternator to produce AC power, but this current is converted into direct current (or DC), before a microprocessor inverts it back into cleaner AC power.

Can I use synthetic oil in my Firman generator?

10W – 30 is our standard recommended oil (you can find this in your manual) if you would like to use full synthetic oil 5W – 30 is recommended. Please be advised if you decide to go to synthetic oil we suggest you keep using synthetic.

How many watts is Firman generator?

The FIRMAN H07552 generator features 9,400 starting Watts and 7,500 running watts (8,450/6,750 LPG). Power is supplied by our Max Pro Series 439cc FIRMAN engine which runs cool and efficient thanks to its Phoenix Fat Head Block.

How long can you run a Firman generator?

Can I use my generator 24/7? We recommend running it for no longer than 14 hours with a 2-3 hour break in between.

How do you adjust the voltage on a generator?

Locate the voltage dial on the portable generator. It is normally on the right or left side of the generator, near a dial displaying the output in voltage. Adjust the dial to the voltage need. Not all generators come with this feature.
